10. Most disliked arc? Why?
Covering main fandoms - where I have immediately identifiable and easily verbalised issues - here.
For Glee, urgh, so many. But most of all the overall “no one is allowed to move on from high school ever” arc spanning across seasons 4-6, culminating in the disastrous “kledding arc”.
For Harry Potter the “after being told I’m just like my dad - and not always being comfortable with it - for years I’m going full-on carboncopy and it’s totally great” arc and the “no Slytherins ever will stand up against a racist invading force who’d just as well kill and/or torture them because you know, they were labeled evil by a hat at age 11″ arc.
For Star Wars it’s the arc where the mass-murdering white boy with rape-vibes and a habit of both torture and trying to murder his every single family member is given a redemption arc and semi-gets the girl. Also the part where the actual male hero is sideline for this, because racism and wet fangirl panties.
19. What is the one thing you hate most about your fandom?
Shitheads who engage in death-threats, tell other fans they should kill themselves, harass actors and/or RP-ship outside of their own heads leading to uncomfortable actors and harassed partners. Also quite possibly to writers ruining things in order to avoid feeding the RP-shippers, but that’s seriously a minor issue.
24. Would you recommend XXX to a friend? Why or why not?
Since you’re not specifying what I’m going to go with your writing! Answer is yes, I’d totally recommend it because it’s awesome and once you go jwm you should never go back. Well thought-out long stories, more plotting and concern about the continuity and logic in each chapter than RIB had in their entire show, and some delicious snark too. Besides, it’s yours and I would also absolutely, totally 100 % recommend jwm who is an awesome being and an even better friend than writer.
