Sleepless
“You okay?” Dazai voice struck through the darkness of the bedroom, surprising the ginger, who had assumed his husband was asleep.
“I can’t sleep,” he offers simply.
“Figures, you’ve been shifting around for well over an hour.” Dazai’s arm slivers around Chuuya’s waist, pulling him against his body.
“Did I keep you up?” the shorter man asks quietly, allowing himself to be pulled into the other’s arms.
“No, you didn’t, I was already having trouble sleeping,” he ends his sentence with a yawn, burying his face in Chuuya silky red hair.
They’re silent for a bit, but they can both tell the other hasn’t fallen asleep yet; the breathing patterns, and the heartbeat aren’t right for that.
“If I wasn’t-“ Dazai cuts Chuuya off before he can even finish the sentence.
“You are.”
“It’s a theoretical question,” the ginger huffs, to which Dazai scoffs at.
“Likely,” the brunette grumbles sarcastically.
“I just wanna know, if I wasn’t human, would you still love me?” Chuuya starts off strongly, but by the end he’s barely a mumble.
“Silly Chibi,” Dazai chastises.
“Of course I would, you could be a worm for all I care, I’d still want to spend all my time with you,” as he speaks, he trails a hand under Chuuya’s shirt; just wanting to feel skin.
The ginger turns the color of his hair, and he buries his face in Dazai’s chest, having not fully expected such a heartfelt speech.
“Dummy,” he grumbles, and Dazai simply laughs.
“I love you too,” he says endearingly.
Chuuya huffs. “Yeah, yeah… I love you.”
Dazai chuckles. “You’re adorable.”
“Shut up!”
