alt and close ups under the cut :3 probably gonna have to click for better quality too
letās not talk about the poorly draw flannel.. my dumbass decided to put him in that even though in the reference itās very much a different shirt. i couldnāt resist
alright itās disability pride month so i should probably choose now to do the rest of these
post-canon disability hornets time!!! (this is assuming everyone lives and moves out of alabama btw- so. very much spoilers ahead. and so so much under the cut)
Jay: Absolutely coming home with both an OCD diagnosis and likely a Schizophrenia diagnosis as well. He is very normal about both of these (he is not. Tim had to literally drag him out to a psychiatrist cuz he couldnāt stand Jay insisting he was fine for much longer or he was gonna have a fit) He likely had OCD prior to all the operator stuff but he didnāt really care, he kinda just assumed everyone had occasional thoughts of extreme paranoia and intrusive thoughts. Said thoughts got way worse after entry 72.
After like a half to a full year he finally starts dealing with them and is less generally disgusted by himself. He starts accepting help (though hesitantly and slowly and he absolutely has strings of time where he self isolates but heās working on it). A lot of his compulsions revolve around frantically filming everything and checking to make sure every single lock in the house/apartment is secure multiple times. He does seek reassurance (mainly from Tim or Alex) but he self isolates more often. Cant worry that everyone in your life hates you and wants you dead if you donāt have anyone in said life.
His schizophrenia isnāt As severe as Timās simply because he wasnāt around the Operator for as long, but he does still have hallucinations (mostly of alex or the operator or just general hearing things) and delusions that he struggles to deal with.
He has chronic pain from his gunshot wound so he sometimes canāt really get out of bed or do things but for the most part heās able to work from home. Also he only has one kidney now :) they stole his other one (got too messed up from the bullet and they couldnāt salvage it)
Also i cannot stress to you how much this man despises therapy. He has to be honest with someone he doesnāt trust yet and has only met a few times?? yeah thatās not happening. He still goes and it does help him when heās actually able to be honest but otherwise he hates it. He wants to quit. He also doesnāt think he needs it (he does)
Also he has PTSD. not diagnosed cuz he canāt be bothered and also thinks itās fine, but he absolutely has it. Tim will drag him back to the psychiatrist right after Jay accepts his other two diagnoses. he doesnāt want to completely overwhelm him even though he thinks a diagnosis would really help.
Tim: His leg. is so fucked. he did Not have time to let it heal well so it flares up often and he walks with a cane. he actually quite likes his cane, he just dislikes how annoying it is to deal with in publicāhe hates that he only has one hand to do things with. he used to hate how often people stared at him cuz heās a relatively young guy, but he stopped caring after a couple weeks of using it. heās dealt with worse from other people.
His seizures are more frequent now, but they donāt always trigger a blackout like they used to. Unfortunately he has yet to figure out what Does trigger them, but his medication continues to be his best resource. The first time he had a seizure after moving away from alabama he scared the shit out of both jay and brian who he was with at the time, half cuz they were worried about him and half cuz they thought they were about to get dragged back into all the operator madness. They did not, but also none of them left the house or each others sides for a month. Shout out canned food that they are now collectively Very sick of. Tim actually didnāt lose his job from this, finally finding a decent boss as it had been a couple years since heād be in any work position. Granted his boss wasnāt Happy, but he didnāt get fired. (lowkey the most unrealistic part of all of this cuz corporate america sucks ass and they would never)
also has PTSD because of course he does, i wouldnāt be surprised if he had it sooner and just wasnāt diagnosed until after leaving alabama. This is why heās fairly confident Jay has it as well, he recognizes his own traits in jay (much like how he recognized the schizophrenia before jay got diagnosed with it) he just knows jay would be reluctant to be called out on it.
He has. very bad depression. mainly from guilt (his dumbass still is convinced itās all his fault even though itās not). he especially blames himself for jay and brianās long term disabilities. jay because he thinks he wouldnāt have gotten shot had he not left jay at his house, and brian because⦠he pushed him⦠out the window⦠thing⦠and also blames himself for not knowing brian was alive for all that time because he thinks he couldāve helped him had he known.
jessica: narcolepsy (obviously) but they never specifically if itās type 1 or 2 so i am here dubbing her type two narcolepsy.
youāll notice a theme here: ptsdddd. i cannot imagine any of these people leaving this situation without ptsd iām sorry. i think she also has ocd but i think sheās less in denial about it than jay is. took her forever to get diagnosed though because they said she was ājust anxiousā and she just needed more sleep and she wasnāt well rested enough, thatās why she was so āstressedā (the irony of them telling the girl with narcolepsy to sleep more was not lost on her) and recommended therapy. she did therapy and that was what lead her to get diagnosed, because a therapist recognized the traits in her and recommended her somewhere
brian: paralyzed from the waist down because of spinal cord injury. his arms can move but they hurt because the fall also fucked up both of his shoulders permanently. he now also has chronic migraines which can last several days at a time and he literally cannot do anything except sleep (or try to sleep) when he has one
PROSTHETIC EYE PROSTHETIC EYE PROSTHETIC EYE i donāt care that that doesnāt really make sense (idk how his whole comic eye thing works but to me it looks kind of.. hollowed out? so. giving him a prosthetic eye) he hated it first, he tended to wear an eyepatch instead. he figured there was no point in pretending he was ānormalā and would prefer the āobviousā eyepatch. tim loved when he wore the eye, which helped brian accept it as an option for him. after some time he started to have fun with it, and now has a whole collection of different colors and iris shapes.
heās always in a wheelchair due to said paralysis and normally just wheels himself around. the only person he letās touch the handles on his wheelchair is tim, and tim normally only does so if asked because he doesnāt want to assume brian needs the help. (tim also doesnāt think he deserves to interfere with something so crucial to brian because heās the one that caused him to be in it. little does the idiot know brian does not blame him for that. he doesnāt blame tim for anything really, but he does sometimes have fits of resentment, mainly for him leaving when he wore the mask and teaming up with jay instead. he does blame alex, however, but he is still relatively cordial with him. heās trying to trust him again. he blames alex the way you blame someone when you know itās not technically their fault but you need to channel your anger and frustration to someone). he also has a debilitating fear of heights now
ended up with a bipolar diagnosis after he went to a doctor just to make sure everything else was alright. he wasnāt even looking for anything to be diagnosed.. i have no justification for this one-
iām pretending the neck stabbing didnāt happen but If it Did and he survived it, i think he wouldnāt be able to talk much if at all, and heād likely need a feeding tube.
happy disability pride month guys, make sure you hit someone with your mobility aid this month and if you canāt do that then find a way to telepathically give someone a disability /j. everyone get more disabled (looking at you, yes you, able bodied people. get more disabled right now) /j
also please reblog with your own thoughts if you have any, i wanna hear em :3 and sorry about the all over the place capitalization
jay not at all discreetly filming and eavesdropping on jodi and alexās conversation and then going āwhat information? i wasnāt paying attentionā yeah okay sure buddy. i love him
