honestly, I’ve only read 5 of Shakespeare’s works, so I can’t say for sure what Ichigo’s favorite would be

but he’d like something light-hearted that’s not all about death. Drama’s fine, but not a unilateral tragedy

well, it could happen. Byakuya was in the Academy when the whole Turn Back the Pendulum arc happened, so he could have a connection with Senbonzakura

and at this time, he’s just willful and silly enough to follow Yoruichi as she’s going to do something big and risky and dangerous like help a bunch of people om the wrong side of the law

so Aizen catches Byakuya hanging around and tosses him into the experiment as an afterthought

and he lives, and ends up with the Visored in the Human World as one of them

his personality would probably be very different

because in canon he’s shaped a lot by his grandfather and his life as a clan heir/head

so instead of spending 100 years including his formative years being a True First, he’s spending 100 years scraping by in the Human World

so he’s probably a lot less stuffy and more easy-going

though he’s still likely to be on the quiet side

he’d definitely have more regular life skills - imagining his reaction to being told he has to chip in on chores and bringing in money is priceless

he canonically is really good at penmanship and stuff, and he has the benefit of all that noble training

so he’d probably work as a scribe/writer, or teaching kids to read and write

though he takes his turn doing the dirty/less fun jobs like working at a restaurant or whatnot

though the others have to smack him on the head to even do it

and they have to give him lessons on how to act more normal and not like a giant noble ass

and not get fired on the first day for saying stupid shit to the customers

this would also change all of the plot of Bleach, though

since Byakuya wouldn't be there to adopt Rukia

and so she probably wouldn’t get the Hoguyoku 

and maybe she wouldn’t be there to jump-start Ichigo’s powers

she definitely wouldn’t be a Kuchiki

it’d be a hell of an AU

I love your Grimmjow college AU, so I want something similar.  What about this scenario? Since we don’t actually know when Byakuya or Isshin went to Academy (or if they even did–though, there seems to be a case to be made that Byakuya didn’t, but whatever), what if they were in the same Academy class? They’re both True First and I kind of love the idea of these two being odd couple buddies.  Ideas?

And some of my thoughts:

my initial thought is that that would be hilarious to watch

because Isshin tends to be very relaxed and easy-going in non-emergency situations

and Byakuya - even the teen Byakuya we saw in the flashbacks - is pretty uptight and formal

so they’d probably be at odds a bit

but Byakuya would probably put up with Isshin because they’re both True First

and Isshin grew up in the Rukongai and is really good at people-ing and stuff

while Byakuya is very sheltered and a bit of a snob

so there are Antics

they probably don’t have many classes with the ordinary folks, they get tutors or special classes or whatnot

Isshin is the guy who is always down for fun stuff

Byakuya is just ??? about how ordinary people do stuff

he’s curious, ok?

the first time Byakuya sees a pit toilet is an Experience

so basically there are a ton of adventures and trials and stuff

and I’d totally be down for starting a running series about this if people have questions or ideas or whatever. Hit me up! My running title is “Isshin and Byakuya’s student daze”
