—Two single persons went out for a walk. They didn't come back… or not as single people.
Happy Juneteenth, everyone!!
I'm sorry I wasn't able to post on the actual day. I was swamped with work, then had a family dinner right afterward, and damn did we ate GOODDD! But happy Juneteenth to everyone who celebrates because I know I did🫶🏾😘
June 19 - got my eye drops from the pharmacy today, and yes for those that saw my earlier post about same - I am still amused that one of the possible side effects the pharmacist had to warn me about was that it can cause longer & thicker eye lashes. Beware the dreaded luscious lashes!!! Though I suppose it isn't funny to anyone particularly concerned with the symmetry of their appearance, since it does only happen to the eye the drops are going into. The same drops can also darken the colour of your iris, same caveat.
My family doctor, despite having today off, made a point to call me this afternoon and touch base to find out what had happened since I left his office yesterday.
Also, the admin at the ophthalmology clinic I went to in Sudbury yesterday contacted me in late afternoon to pass on that the Toronto specialist had already contacted them with info about an intake appointment for me. Except the date they'd given her is "Thursday June 24". The 24th is Wednesday, Thursday is the 25th, the next Thursday the 24th is in September, and in 2027 there is actually a Thursday June 24th - though I'd be extremely surprised if the actual appointment is a full year away*. So some part of that date is incorrect, and I need to contact the Toronto clinic on Monday to get that sorted out. And possibly rebooked; if it's Wednesday I am doubtful about getting down to Toronto that fast, since we'd need to travel down on Tuesday. I also need some idea of how long I need to pack for (ie, the likely time period between intake appointment and treatment appointment); a couple days? A couple weeks?? A couple days now, and then ditto in a month???
Plus I still need to confirm with my brother that he's able to get me down there (and what if any dates he would rather not be travelling), and if not, figure out getting down there by bus or whatever. Joy.
(* my guess is the admin down there had done something like book a one year follow-up for someone, and then didn't notice they hadn't switched back to 2026 before booking mine.)
Cooked the last of the pizzas from the freezer for supper.
Sorry to inform but I will not have any stories out soon I’m in the process of moving across states so it will be pretty hectic after I move, shortly after I will be starting school ANDD getting a job (holy moly I’m growing up😭) so I have a lot going on, but I will definitely try and find time in the next two months I do have storyline ideas. I literally just have to write so just wanted to give an update before I go MIA again.☺️

HAPPY JUNE 19TH WOAHHHH
Id make fanart but I cant draw for shit rn wahhhhhh
For this Juneteenth I wanted to say thank you to all my Black peers and Elders who think they havent done much. I know its easy to feel like your not doing a lot but it means so much to someone.
As a kid growing up in a heavy church area. There were a lot of things i never learned by people around me. I spent younger years off the internet.
From posts I learned about others around me. I was never told about our music, no one sat me down and went over the different ways to take care of my hair.
I learned how to sew because an older Black Woman was kind enough to make a video. Now im able to sew holes in my clothes instead of throwing them out.
I was able to find older Black peers outside of where I lived to talk to about videogames and our favorite shows.
See Elders recounting things theyve experienced that I was going through.
I have seen Black Drag queens and pride from people simply posting their days. They didn't think themselves to make a difference but they did and you do.
And thats all it takes really. The choice to be yourselves means more than some of you might know.
