Halifax: Exploring
The main reason we stoped in Halifax was to visit Pier 21. Our Grandparents came through these doors in the 1950′s from Greece and settled in Halifax before moving to Toronto in their 20′s. We wanted to see if we could find their landing records but due to Canadian Privacy Act we were not allowed to access the information.Â
Since our Italian grandparents came in the 1960′s as well we asked to search for their records but found their voyage details from Italy to Australia ( that info was not private....) which was amazing to see. A lot of people have walked through Pier 21 and started their Canadian journey.Â
