❛ shouldn’t you be at the roller-rink, since the music there is more your vibe? ❜ there’s no hiding the tilt of absolute joy, that layers his tease. he wastes no time in sliding into vacant seat & throwing an arm around her shoulders, pulling tiffany in for a quick embrace. ❛ how’ve you been, dude ?! i feel like it’s been literally forever! ❜ more so applies to physically seeing her if anything, considering the amount of e-mails they exchange. the receptionist had easily become one his first & closest friends, since relocating to new york. ❛ i’m still not finished unpacking, believe it or not. might need an extra set of hands honestly, plus you can be first house guest! what’s new with you, what’re you doin’ at the bar, so early in the afternoon? ❜
"Shut up,” Tiffany laughs. Jules never misses an opportunity to tease her for her taste in music, but she thinks Boney M. really cheers up the grim little reception area at the motel. He’s definitely a lot cooler than Tiffany is ever likely to be, and it can be sort of intimidating. But, he’s so friendly that it’s difficult to feel that way for long. She’s glad he managed to find an apartment, because he was always way too nice for the motel. She misses him now that he’s not in and out all the time, but she’s happy for him.
She hugs him back without hesitation, warm and soft. Though Tiffany can be shy, once she’s comfortable with somebody she’s extremely affectionate. And today, she really needed that hug. “I guess I was just in the mood for wings,” she shrugs, not wanting to dampen the mood with her bad news. She’d way rather be distracted, and Jules makes it so easy to laugh. She pushes her plate of wings towards him in case he wants one. “I’d be totally honoured to be your first house guest. It must be a real step up from the motel, right? I bet you’ve already made it look super cool and unique. Wait--” Tiffany opens her mouth in horror. “I haven’t even got you a housewarming gift! I’m the worst friend ever.”
