Master Sergeant Jessica Logan was shocked to learn she’d be taking a team of civilians to the past in a rickety time machine. Then again, she doesn’t have much to leave behind since her husband died six years ago trying to break up a bar fight. But if time machines exist…..Hoping that she can maybe save her lost husband, Jessica embarks on her mission with a new team in tow.

Lucy has never been in love. Close maybe, but not in love. And she knows that she should focus on the mission. Focus on history and Flynn, but….Jessica. She’s brave, daring, kind, beautiful, and has a fantastic sense of humor. She’s always there for her to talk to. Get her over the “hump” and Lucy….Lucy falls hard.

Jess….Jess takes time. She has feelings for Lucy, she’s not that oblivious, but she’s still coming to terms with Wyatts passing. He’s been gone for years now and she knows he’d want her to move on. And the more she travels to the past, the more she realizes that she needs to appreciate what she has now. Not just what she used to have.

They both finally confess their love in Hollywood, knowing that it was a long time coming. Jessica feels like this is her second chance and Lucy is also looking toward the future. When they come back to the present they bask in the fact that no matter what, they have each other

Then in walks Flynn. Jessic and him have history,( he tried to kill her a few times. Oh and he kidnapped Lucy. He is not living that down) but…. Lucy says to trust him. She may not trust Flynn yet, but Jess does have absolute faith in Lucy. Which means she has to accept the bastard. God help her.

After the Delta Blues mission, Lucy comes to Jess with news that she loves Flynn. In a different way than she loves Jess, but she does love him equally. And…. Jess can live with that. Flynn’s been a good friend to Lucy and she thinks in time, she can see herself being his friend too. (But if you kidnap her again Flynn I WILL kill you;)

So no, they’re not your average family, but they grow to love each other and would die to protect what they have. They watch old movies together, make dinner for the bunker, teach Lucy self defense, and just….live.
