#ThursdayThoughts Hallowe’en, Samhuinn thé last harvest of the year. What is it about this festival. In Mexico the Day of the Dead is celebrated, it’s all about the Ancestors. A celebration of life and of those who have passed beyond this reality. Somewhat diminished by the marketing monsters who have taken the aspect of “guiseing” and turned it into a parody of its true meaning. Dumb Suppers may well be highly popular this year as we are restricted in our choices of ways to celebrate, but if you want to really keep this night, carve a Jack O’ Lantern, keep one place at the dinner table set for a recently departed Dear One. Keep a space with some memories, a photograph perhaps and their favourite flowers. As the midnight hour approaches get yourself ready to raise a glass to loved ones. Dook for apples, make toffee apples and enjoy the time in our respective ‘bubbles’ There are so many things that we can do, even on Zoom, traditional games and spells even - it is after all the olde Celtic New Year. New beginnings through the observance respecting endings as the Bone Fires burn. Make your wishes and your plans, set yourself up for the quiet time of Winter, readying to store and prepare for Spring. At this time I am offering a free 20min pre consult chat.
