Let me start off the bat and say today was another day all on my lonesome! I don’t have a lot to say, and I’m feeling a bit sad, too, so all I can do is try my best here. Today was surprisingly simple! I handled being alone much better than I think I have been… Though I could have surely done more today than I did with a little more help, I think I am left feeling satisfied with how things went… I think…? And I hope that my bit of reluctancy with the ticks won’t be too problematic- I am just feeling full of anxiety in regards to their progress. It’s hard to feel like I am doing the right thing, or the right way, and I feel like in order for these to really shine they will take someone with a little more painting experience than me… But anyways, I’ll now talk about the positives!
So I got started by, as has become the usual, cleaning-up! I picked up the two main tables I used, the floor, carpet, and did a little vacuuming! It was a bit fun as it’s seemed to be so far. After that, I got to work on adding a little more color to the ticks as per my instructor’s request… I think he was expecting a bit more than what I did, as what I did was kind of just another base coat, but I’m just not comfortable doing the details! So that was all for today… I’m sorry! I tried to match the colors to the image he shared with me of bloated ticks. Nasty. They seem to lose their darker colors once they get all bloated-up… Hm… Anyways. My instructors coworkers, Shirley and Bethany, showed up. We had a talk about my highschool technical theater instructor- whom she knows, since her son also went to the same highschool I went to. It was a fun and colorful conversation. Then, since I was feeling a little useless, I offered her some help! She seemed to have her hands full, and I figured to help her would be to help Zoot, and I was struggling to find work to do- so that fit the bill. I spent the rest of my time sorting fabrics and relocating large foam scraps into bags and bins and putting them onto shelves. It was pretty fun, too, and I liked that she was playing the radio from her phone… And that was about it-! A simple kind of day. Once again, I feel like I could have done a little more… But I promise I was trying to do my best.
