Since the use of 'reigning' instead of 'raining' is almost certainly meant to be a reference to the 'reign of supermen' story arc from the comics, we can reasonably assume this episode will be an adaptation of that story arc, which means we might actually get Conner this time around since this is the 'reign of the supermen' arc is when he made his debut. However, there will almost certainly need to be changes made

Since Hank died last episode, he's obviously gonna be absent (unless Lex revived and rebuilt him)

Since Jon had Conner's comic book look, the show will need to either give Conner a new outfit or throw in a line about Lex purposely modeling Conner's outfit after Jon's look (possibly because he wants to trick people into thinking Conner!Superboy is the same Superboy who helped take down Hank)

maybe have Jon Lane return from the future partly so the episode's title still make sense without Cyborg Superman around and also because it would be fun to have Superboys flying around (even if it's just for few episodes)

Also, I look forward to seeing Steel again.

I wanted to dish out my idea of what SHOULD have happened in MAwS. There was such potential for Kon-El and it wasn’t delivered, on top of that his little brother is now taking his look which I still don’t approve of. Nevertheless, I decided to write a basic idea of what could have happened in the show.

Conner is the birth son to Lois and Clark. The death of Superman actually happens before Kon-El was born, he will be killed by Hank Henshaw (Cyborg Superman), so he is mainly raised by his mother. When he turns 16 EVERYTHING starts going downhill, Lois dies while being pregnant with Jon, JIMMY dies, Kara dies!!! EVERYONE IS DEAD thanks to Darkseid. Kon-El would be one of the last survivors in his future so he turns to Lex for help to send him to the past, and using the knowledge of the future he remains undercover waiting for the time the dark evil arises so he can strike it head on with his family TOGETHER. He wouldn’t say he’s from the future just outa nowhere. It’s just too stupid. He’s gotta cover it up for now, change his clothes, name himself Conner and blend in while somehow befriending his mother and father without giving himself away although he slowly does in cute and silly ways. It could build into this shocking reveal and Conner will have to be like.. “Yeah I’m actually your son.” BOOM! crazy reveal for the main characters. Clark is shocked. Lois is shocked. Kara is excited. And Jimmy is confused. From this point Conner and the cast fight off the evils to come and prepare for the dark future awaiting them.

Again, this is a basic idea and I feel would have been a better idea than the Jon-El dragon ball style arc we got for him. Superboy had potential to be a great character but like most of this show it fails to rise above and beyond to make a legendary story, it’s all very mid sadly. I hope one day Kon-El is giving his chance to shine im the DC universe because this little man is my absolute favorite hero.
