I love you...
This won't be the last time. We'll see each other again, Jom. I believe so. We will meet again somehow. Believe me, my beloved Jom.
SCENT OF MEMORY (2023) dir. Tee Sintanaparadee
You're telling me, the absolutely iconic EP7 dance scene, was learned on the day of filming!?!?! I thought they practiced for at least a few days before filming because they moved really gracefully.
These two, are really freaking good.
Please read this excellent post by @recentadultburnout about how "Por" is not just "father", but also a term that conotes affection for a same-age or younger man, and then look at my shit post:

Parallel flower staring. Love it.
Plus, underwater kisses are for the gays
This episode had me with my heart in my throat the entire time. The tension between Jom and Yai was so thick it was dizzying, yet both them and Peung and Maey kept inching closer and closer to disaster as if unable to stop themselves. The themes of oppression were present everywhere - gender, class, sexuality. Every character is at a point of ultimate joy and sadness at the same time - the father got his promotion but knows his success depends on how he is viewed, Jom and Yai hang on a thread, Peung and Maey are losing power over Robert by the second, Ming is confused and in love...
This show. It's incredible. EVERY single character has so much depth. It's insane. The way Maey's eyes flickered when Ming confessed to her. You could see it all - the fear of losing their friendship, the fear that she'll be exposed like Jom, the fear of a man trying to lay claim to her. She is so, so vulnerable right now.
The intimacy this episode was mind blowing. They portrayed that initial desire so masterfully. The oil scene was hot, of course, but Nonkul DEVORED. He portrayed that desperation, the queer feeling of being powered by your body alone. The frustration of wanting to be touched but having to deny your lover's touch for their safety.
And that ballroom scene....they are losing their cool constantly. They're going to be eaten alive. But they want to be together SO bad.
I can't believe how much IFYLITA dominates my thoughts.
