Ooh, I really like this one and need to give it an ending! It's a Jomille piece I began writing for the Secret Santa exchange before realizing my giftee specified Lucy-centric femslash and the idea didn't quite work with her taking either of the roles so I had to pivot.

Anyway, the idea is Camille and Jo are in the early stage of their relationship, goofing around and playing at a bit, but then they end up voicing some deeper feelings they maybe weren't ready to verbalize otherwise (also hints at Kogan bc obviously, this is still me after all)

Snippet:

Jo narrows her eyes “I hope that’s not a hint of lingering feelings I’m detecting there”

Camille fully cackles at this one; throws her head back as peals of laughter erupt from her. Slowly, she calms down to giggles and dabs at her watering eyes “Oh baby, no. Not in the least. No disrespect to my ex, but I think we’re both in the right place now”

“Good” Jo smiles, before sweeping the back of her hand to her forehead and adopting the cadence of a mournful southern damsel. “I’ve already lost one lover to the man, I can’t bear the thought of another!”

Always ready to commit to the bit, any bit, Camille gently sits Jo up on the edge of the bed before dropping to one knee before her. “Now Miss Josephine Taylor, don’t you worry that pretty little head of yours with none of that foolishness” Here she places a hand on her heart in a sign of loyalty and raises the other like she’s testifying in court. “Why I swear by all the peaches in Georgia there’s no man, woman, or beast who could tear me from your side”
