Instead of planning my own wedding (like I should be doing), here are my wedding headcanons for Phantom Hourglass:
Linebeck and Jolene: DEFINITELY shotgun and/or court house wedding. I think they get married as soon as she finds out she’s pregnant with Junior. No frills ceremony, I don’t think it would suit them. Jolene wears a pant suit. The Old Wayfarer officiates (he is technically a sea captain and is ordained).
They celebrate a year later with an anniversary dinner that Linebeck forgets about beforehand.
Linebeck and Ciela: If they ever got married in canon, I think it would be some kind of weird ritual involving the ocean king and the spirits, and Linebeck isn’t sure what he’s getting himself into. There’s a blood pact involved.
Linebeck and Ciela (Confetti Killer version): Ciela has always wanted a really bombastic, showy wedding, and Linebeck is along for the ride. Of course, Ciela is a control freak, and she micromanages the entire shebang. The total cost is $80K and it doesn’t even look great. She changes her mind several times about the floral arrangements. They get married in the Temple of the Ocean King. Poofy sleeves on the dress. Linebeck considers leaving her at the altar, chickens out (thank god).
Messy divorce two years later.
Linebeck and Salvatore: You don’t even want to know how much this one costs. You can’t fathom it. Salvatore tells Linebeck to pic out one thing: the color of his pocket square, and Salvatore plans and designs the rest. It’s at an abstract art museum. There is a subtle nautical flair to the whole thing.
They decide to try an open marriage about five years later, at Salvatore’s behest.
