God told you that being gay is wrong? Boo hoo.
I have better sources:
telenovela drama Alan Scott: The Green Lantern #4
Reading infinity inc. And developing a new headcanon
My friends called me evil for this one
What if the cabin that Johnny Ladd and Alan promised to run away together to, and live the rest of their lives after the war
Is the same cabin that Alan spent his honeymoon with Rose at?
You know what team up would be cool? Guy Gardner and Vladimir Sokov
Okay!! Just Listen!!
This might sound strange but i have my reasons. Yes, Guys is a jackass but at the same time he can be really loyal, emphatic and insanely powerful. And was a red lantern, the leader of the red lanterns. Vlad is someone who was a russian soldier, had to create a whole new identity, lied to the love of his life, faked his death, became the crimson flame and shit just continued to pile up.
But they are from different eras!
Listen baby, listen.
For some timey-whiney-thingy the lanterns end up with a version of Alan and Vlad in their 20s. Now the lanterns have to basically babysit them, try to find out how to stop the baddie that caused this, and if they can actually send them back. And of course dealing with the fact that Alan found out his boyfriend lied to him and is having the biggest crash out of his life. The only understable thing in this whole mess.
Guy ends up babysitting Vlad because 1) He is himself and thinks he can deal with the angry Russian 2) was a red lantern and a third motive he doesn't explain.
SO now we have this two groups, Group A with Alan and Group B with Vlad, both dealing with their emotions. With Guy and Vlad, they have to find something or beat someone to fix the timey-whiney-thingy. They don't get along and slowly Vlad gets angrier and angrier until he blow ups and they fight. Vlad just go ham and hits Guy over and over again while the redhead taunts him. But slowly the things that Guy says start to hit deep, to peel him layer by layer until he breaks down. Guy just holds him and lets him cry his eyes out. He had work with kids with problems and sees a part of himself in him. He knows he is so angry because he is hurt, that he was dealt a bad hand and did his best considering the times and conditions. They talk and Vlad opens up. Gets to finally process the abuse, the fear, everything. Guy tells him he can use the power of the ring for good, that it doesn't have to destroy him, and if he can try to fix things with Alan. If he could get Tora back he can get his man.
They complete the mission and go back to the base.
With some encouragement Vlad talks with Alan. He comes cleans about everything, his mission, his double identity, his relationship, how he trully loved him and wanted to be with him but understood if he doesn't. Alan obviously is broken hearted and doesn't know if he should believe him, if he should trust him once again.
Depending if the continuation we can have him talk with the OG Alan Scott and process the whole thing and make a decition for himself.
In the end they defeat the bad guy and Alan and Vlad make up.
The new problem: What the fuck they do with them?
I have two ideas:
The timey-whiney-thingy created a whole new timeline. They go back but stay together.
They can't go back for *insert reason* so they basically are some kind of time anomaly. They decide to stay in the future and work as lanterns.
Finally they can be together with people that support and love them.
