A visually stunning neon-noir aesthetic brings this rarely-performed Restoration tragedy into the 1980s, and Prasanna Puwanarajah’s vision makes this a real nail-biting thriller. Though lacking some much needed depth, the visuals and sheer imagination of this revival is a real thrill, and it is thoroughly entertaining and brilliantly performed.
