Brigadier General John Buford, the man who picked the fight at Gettysburg, because he had an eye for ground, sitting for a picture with his staff (Myles Keogh is standing on the left).  Buford died (of typhoid fever), four months later, in the Washington home of his good friend, General George Stoneman.  Buford was 37.
