I hope this inspires someone. In 2008 this pic was taken on my wedding day. I was over weight unhealthy and just not in a good place. A year before we got married we went through a lot him with knee surgery’s and my broken leg that had me down for almost a year. I had deep depression and just didn’t care so I ate unhealthy and was drinking and smoking cigs a lot. My body really hated me and I really wasn’t happy with myself. Flash forward to 2017 my hubby decided that he was ready to make a change and I saw what all he had done to change and it inspired me to do the same. He was eating healthy, quit smoking, quit drinking, and started working out and doing Jiu Jitsu. I got to know hubbies bjj buddies and they all were really trying to get me to join and try Jiu Jitsu. Near the end of 2018 I met an awesome Jiu Jitsu lady that sat me down and talked to me about what scared me about the sport and how it made me feel just watching hubby. She and one of my professors and hubby that night got me to thinking about it and how good it could be for me. So the next night they got me on the mat that was November 21. So I quit eating crappy, stopped drinking, and quit smoking and started doing more healthier things. I even started working out and doing Jiu Jitsu more. The outcome of all the hard work is showing and it looks awesome. I really hope this inspires someone that has a hard time making a change.
