My biggest Dragon Ball hot take is that Jiren is pretty good character. He went on the same kind of shonen journey Goku did but without the safety net of the Dragon Balls. Imagine who Goku would be if Shenron couldn't be revived after King Piccolo so Krillin and Master Roshi had stayed dead. There is no way he would have been so forgiving with future threats like Piccolo Jr and Vegeta. Jiren's no nonsense attitude and self reliance are justified.
