its been a while since I nerded about / treated myself to some pens and inks, these happened to match very nicely
im such a sucker for transparent pens, especially blue. the ink is waterproof so i really wanna test it with watercolors.

Oh cool there's ink stuck between the inner and outer part of the neck of my Jinhao 100. Anybody have any suggestions for getting it out? 🥲
my love for fountain pens ☁️🖋️

Super happy with my first retractable fountain pen: the Jinhao 20.
Clone of the Pilot Capless but only 3% of the Pilot's price
I got it with an EF nib. $6.79 AUD from AliExpress.
Nib dries out faster than a regular fountain pen with a cap. Go four or five days without writing anything and the ink flow is stuttery and scratchy. But rehydrate it with a droplet of water and it comes good right away, same as any other fountain pen. Saw a comment on Reddit saying this can be remedied with silicon grease around the trapdoor, so I'll have to try that.
Its converter doesn't have a huge amount of volume, but that's par for the course. Plus more frequent refills mean more frequent changes to your ink colour, so it's not all bad.
It's a super fun pen. Extremely worth the price. I love it.
New Pen Day
A friend had a birthday coming up and needed a pen that could handle some shimmer inks I'd given them. Obviously this meant I had to buy myself the pens first to test them, and my word do I love these (and so much better than the Jinhaos I bought a few years ago)
Definitely helps that a recent Valentine's exchange let me discover a new favourite paper that really showcases all the properties of the inks
Now I just need to find a way to justify having such beautiful equipment!

This is a Jinhao fountain pen btw, super cute and cost like, 4 quid. Comes with a converter, and the nib is mostly covered; it’s a perfect beginner fountain pen, I love it already
It does feel a little bit cheap but it’s a super-budget pen that’s easy to use and is absolutely adorable
