It all started with a rumor that jimin and jungkook both received a gift from a significant other; whoever it might be, because they simply didn’t know. Then it followed up with an investigation to identify these said “significant others” in order to figure out who had caught the attention of the campus’ sweetheart and heartthrob.

The news drove everyone into a frenzy. Unbeknownst to them, jimin nor jungkook knew what chaos they had caused around them. It wasn’t brought up in front of jimin until he came across a breathless taehyung that seemed to have ran a marathon in order to find him.

“T-There.. you are!” taehyung gasped out, heaving to catch some of his breath. “Do you know how hard you are to find? I had to run what felt like years as a mad dog hoping to find a trace of where you went!” He exaggerates as he slowly seems to recover, an accused stare targeted towards his best friend — jimin couldn’t help but giggle.

“Hey, to be fair you should’ve just texted me!” jimin scoffs, lips forming into a cute pout before a look of worry crosses his face. “All jokes aside, are you okay? Did you need something?” He asks as he brushes a hand over his silky hair, catching the attention of his friend who let out a near-dying gasp.

In the next seconds that follow, jimin’s wrist is being tugged and confusion first comes to mind when taehyung’s grip is harsh on his skin. “tae, is something wrong? What is it, are you hurt?”

taehyung’s widened gaze never fails to look over past jimin’s wrist, his range of sight too caught up on the delicate piece of jewelry hanging loosely on his best friend’s wrist. “jimin-ah, are you hiding something from me that you’re not telling me?”

Following taehyung’s eye of vision, jimin landed on the bracelet that was beautifully sitting on his dainty wrist. “Oh, this. My mistake, but a couple of days ago I bought a new bracelet from this cute market stand!” He happily recounted, lifting his wrist higher and moving it in a way that shows off its beauty and shine.

“Yeah, no that’s not what I’m talking about! I’m saying is there like… something else, something secretive you would only tell a best friend of six years and counting..” Taehyung, although on the bridge of hysteria just by seeing the clueless expression on jimin’s face, remains the ever-so-patient person he is and lets out a defeated sigh. He pulls out his phone and shows off the tweets that are talking about jimin and jungkook.

Now the explanation ensued.

It only took a couple minutes to explain what was going on taehyung’s end, a quick “Wait!” tried stopping jimin as he wasted no time in searching for jungkook. It’s no secret that they didn’t know each other, sometimes they would cross paths and even then it would be small greetings, maybe even gestures but that’s about it.

After a while of campus-searching and constant directions from some of jungkook’s friends (who happened to be football jocks), jimin managed to find the charming boy to no surprise, talking to cheerleaders.

jungkook’s reputation wasn’t necessarily a bad one, he’s no notorious bad boy but he was considered what the campus called a “heartthrob,” and with the title came a reputation of its own.

Anyone with eyes knew just how scarily attractive jungkook was, especially when he was sporting a heavenly body — a perk of being a sports player. Although they might not know each other well, jimin wasn’t blind to the fact. Unfortunately, girls were more keen on getting his attention the most but lately it’s been worse.

Snapping out of his thoughts, jimin marches right towards the source of his rumored existence. The cheerleaders were the first ones to notice him given that they were glaring at him? Eyeing him? Who knows, he was only here for jungkook.

“jungkook-” jimin starts off by calling out, making his presence known as he gains the attention of the younger who seems surprised yet intrigued by his sudden appearance. “Do you have a moment to talk? Please… it’s urgent.” His voice is soft spoken, an undeniable heat surfacing on his cheeks from the stares he’s getting.

“jimin-ssi, what are– yeah, of course.” jungkook nods, bidding farewell to the girls who — now that jimin noticed — were clinging onto him for dear life; his struggle noticeable. Nonetheless, they both managed to walk away to a more quieter place under the bleachers.

“I hope you don’t mind that I call you hyung,” jimin shakes his head and jungkook relieves himself from hesitating with using the honorific. “So, what was it that you wanted to talk about.. hyung?”

Looking at it now from his perspective, jimin couldn’t shake off just how handsome the younger one was from this angle. Up close, the sun’s lighting showing off his sun-kissed skin. His eyes wandered from his face to his ridiculously hot varsity jacket, jungkook’s muscles rippling through the material, his chest, and his gaze trails back up — his neck that’s meant for nuzzling, his adam’s apple, his smooth and soft lips and the small mole right under it, his nose, and finally his eyes.

God those eyes, the every ones that are still eyeing him—

jimin snaps from his daze, he wasn’t here to daydream like the rest of his campus does, he was here to talk. “jungkook-ah, there’s rumors circulating around you and me. I just wanted to talk to you more about that, specifically why it’s such an issue.” jimin says, giving him a reassuring smile.

He doesn’t expect to see a reaction of jungkook wide-eyed and blushing, “Sure, what is it?” The younger rubs the back of his neck in nervousness, seeking comfortability. The action gives jimin a clear view of his wrist and with a quick glance he notices a bracelet dangling from it. Now, it was jimin’s turn to blush, “Ah, i-it’s that..” He points towards the piece of jewelry which resembles his.

“My bracelet? What does that have to do in relation to us?”

jungkook needs no further explanation when he watches as jimin pulls up his sleeve to reveal his wrist with the same type of bracelet. It looks the same, the only difference is that jimin’s had the moon while jungkook’s had the sun, both had half a heart dangled to the side so that once connected — it formed a complete heart.

The youngest reaches out and touches jimin’s wrist, not without a look for confirmation. Once he gets it, he continues and gently strokes his finger over the delicate piece. “From my understanding, people around campus are spreading rumors about us because we aren’t wearing regular bracelets but…” jungkook sucks in a deep breath, falling off-trail from the strokes on jimin’s soft skin.

“Couple bracelets.” jimin finishes for him, cheeks warming up intensely due to jungkook’s touch on his skin. With a hitched breath he manages to say, “They think we’re dating. I didn’t know about this until today, my friend taehyung mentioned about them saying we have significant others but it quickly died down after they couldn’t find any leads… and then they switched it up on us, everything made sense to them then.”

“Hyung, look at me.”

It’s almost embarrassing how quick jimin follows his order. “I didn’t know about any of this either, even if I did I guess you could say I would feel flattered.” jungkook revealed.

Heat pierced jimin whole, butterflies blooming in his stomach as he stutteredout “O-Oh. I’m relieved you’d think so, I had the impression that you would feel uncomfortable that someone was pairing you with someone like me.” He fakes a chuckle and tries to release jungkook’s grip on him.

“Someone like you?” jungkook questions as if it was him that was offended. “Hyung, you’re the most prettiest person in this campus. If anything I’d be honored to be with you! Hyung, I—”

Both of them stared at one another for a couple of seconds, their eyes sparkling like the constellation of stars. Subconsciously, jimin and jungkook got closer to the point of breathing each other in.

As jungkook’s gaze flickers down to jimin’s lips, he mutters out “I have a confession to make,” breath uneven when he confesses, “Hyung, I’ve had a crush on you for a year now and I meant it when I said I didn’t know about any of this, but do understand when I say this..”

Speechless is an understatement of what jimin is currently feeling. The butterflies that bloomed in his stomach fluttered harshly along with his heart that beat like adrenaline flowing through his veins. “jungkook-ah,” jimin reaches down between them to wrap his hand around jungkook’s own, the strong force of the magnet pulling them and linking their bracelets together.

“I think this would be self-explanatory enough, right?” jimin giggled, receiving a smile from jungkook in return.

“Still, I want you to hear how much I like you.”

“Then tell me how much.” the eldest whispers, leaning even more closer.

jungkook leans in as well, meeting jimin halfway as both of them share a wholesome kiss under the bleachers wrapped in nothing else but their warmth.

This was the start of something new. Right after the event of their first kiss together, the news of their newfound relationship spread like wildfire as the couple announced it.

Now that they have each other, they could wear their bracelets with a new meaning.
