It really wasnât right to be so protective as she was. Of course Twice were this precious group of girls that she felt the need to protect and care for, but at the same time, they would grow strong from hardships just as Suzy had done in her own career. Jihyo seemed to have all the confidence in the world in her maknaeâsabilities, however, Tzuyu was not quite that certain. Strange though that mayhave seemed, she had never tried her hand at ice skating before, and the rink,small and empty though it may have been at that time of the year and hour ofthe day, was beyond intimidating for her. She was certain that Jihyo knew thatmuch â but sheâd also pointed out, earlier, after Tzuyu had almost fallenduring a more complicated dance move, that the maknae could use some exerciseon her balance.
And, indeed, what better exercise could there be than trying to balanceherself on the thick blanket of ice? True, it was a great idea. But theTaiwanese girl was afraid. What ifshe managed to break something, or even twist something so close to theirdebut? She wanted to give her best on stage.
âGo on, you can do it!â The older girl called out from the margin of therink â she was there, watching her maknae with all the pride of a mother seeingtheir child take their first steps, and it was then when Tzuyu realized she didnâtwant to risk disappointing her. Sheâd try. What was the worst that couldhappen?
She finally let go of the railing sheâd been holding on. It wasnât easyto find her balance (indeed, it involved wobbling and awkward flapping thatreminded her of Dahyunâs eagle dance), but, after a couple of moments, she wassomewhat steady on her feet, enough as to be able to stand up straight and turnto the other girl. âUnnie, are you coming?â
