Where would I be if it wasn't for my beautiful mama? I gotta say, we took a pretty good selfie for 2am! Coming back into her home, into her arms is deeply comforting and needed after all that travel. The sound of her voice, the smell of her hair, the feel of her arms around me and seeing her sweet face soothed my weary-traveler's soul. She is the most loving woman I know and I couldn't be prouder to call her mama. Walking into her beautiful home after being away for a bit over 6 months brings back many memories, times when I've gone away to college or visiting foreign lands. To arrive back on the summer solstice the air is thick with humidity, warm with the smell of woods. The sight of the kitchen I have ate so many meals in, some of the best holidays. The hum of overhead fans and Lily's bark filled the air. It is all so familiar and I feel like I just walked into a dream. Mom, amazed with the belly, laid her hand there and within a moment got to feel a kick. Baby already knows her and loves her. This morning I awoke (again to Lily's penetrating bark-howl) as I stepped outside to let her out the woods were alive with the sound of song birds, the swish of leaves and drops of previously fallen rain. It's like magic to be here again, I only wish my hubby could be here with me! We all miss you hunny, Mom, Dad, Cali and me ❤️. For the rest of you who want to come say hello and celebrate summer solstice join me at Center for Healing Therapies 7:30pm tomorrow Wednesday, June 21st for some hugs and food.
