With some coaxing, both of them managed to drink and keep down the concoction Lea made. Indeed, the pounding in his head did subside a little and his stomach didn’t protest as much. But Jespar still felt like a Myrad ran him over more than once. And after some guidance, he even managed to get down the stairs and relieve himself.

Now, they sat around a table. Jhara kept his head in his arms, mumbling under his breath. Jespar wanted to light a smoke, but the thought of it, was already making him feel ill. Lea kissed both of them on head. Her vindictive streak ended for now as she handled them like baby chicks. Fragile, soft-spoken, and infinitely caring.

Jhara kept waving her hand away every time she tried though. He mumbled beneath his arms.

“Darling I can’t hear you,” she said with a sigh.

Very slowly, he lifted his head, lips curled in a pained snarl.

“Don’t mother me.”

Jespar rolled his eyes, “Maybe she shouldn’t since you want to be such an ass.”

Lea shot Jespar a look and he shrugged. Then winced as his stomach did a flip. He sunk into his seat and mimicked Jhara, putting his head in his arms on the table.

Then Jhara grunted and moaned in protest. Jespar couldn’t see at first but heard Lea’s drawl and suppressed giggle.

“You mean like this?”

Jhara’s moaning became louder and more persistent in protest. Jespar snorted in laughter beneath his arms. He took a peak above his arms and nearly laughed out loud.

Lea had lain herself, back to back, on Jhara, slowly pushing her weight on top of him, even to the point of raising her arms and draping them above his head.

“I could be like those mistresses in the brothel that will smother you with their bosoms,” she mused. Now she turned herself so her front pushed against Jhara’s back. She carefully wrapped her arms around him, creating a sort of fleshy halo around his head. She rested her chin on top of his disheveled, blonde hair.

“You have no bosoms,” came Jhara’s muffled reply.

Lea giggled and tightened her hold. Her ‘bosoms’ were digging into his upper back.

“Would you prefer to have the big ones you could drown in?” She turned to Jespar now, a look of innocence as she batted her lashes at him.

“Who was that woman you were with a few nights ago? She had breasts the size of—“

Jespar nearly choked and Jhara raised himself so suddenly that he threw Lea off and onto the floor. Icy blue eyes bore into Jespar’s own with a sudden intensity.

“What—“

Then he groaned and slammed his head back into his arms.

“Fuck.”

Lea groaned from her place on the floor.

“Was a joke... Ow…”

“You’re not funny,” Jespar managed, after swallowing his own surprise.

Lea got up and wrapped her arms around him instead. They weren’t as suffocating as what she did to Jhara but her warmth was still soothing. She mumbled an apology and kissed his cheek. He turned his head to catch her lips in a light kiss.

“I’ll forgive you. Don’t know about the ass though.”

“Your ass,” Jhara shot back, finally lifting his head enough to look at them.

Lea did the same with Jhara. Then, he wrapped an arm around her and guided her to lay on the table with them.

“Come join us on the table,” he mumbled, “it’s nice down here.”

Jespar did the same, grabbing Jhara’s hand so they interlocked atop her back. She sighed again but snuggled between them. “I could use a nap anyway. I swear, it’s like taking care of children.”

“Drunk children,” said Jhara cheerfully. Or as cheerfully as one could get under a crippling hangover.

Jespar shook his head, “Never again.”
