Delias mysis, also known as the Red-banded Jezebel, was the name of the fat caterpillars I found on my neighbor’s mailbox from time-to-time. In case you’re wondering, the caterpillars were on the mailbox to pupate, sometimes a caterpillar can wander quite far from their foodplant to find the perfect pupation spot.

I first spotted these caterpillars last year, this year I saw a stray caterpillar that had fallen to the ground ( read the description in this reel ). In short, I found that the caterpillars were feeding on a plant that was surrounded by Chinese Privet, hence my confusion when I found no caterpillars on the Privet last year when I looked. When searching for the foodplant, keep an eye out for any smaller plants! You could easily miss it like I did.

The foodplant, I believe, is Dendrophthoe curvata, a showy Mistletoe. Based off of the Australian Lepidoptera page for this species, it appears to feed on a few Dendrophthoe species, with JCU stating that the caterpillar feeds on several mistletoe species, but particularly prefers Dendrophthoe glabrescens.

No, I don’t think that Nick was in love with the other handmaid. When he cuts her down, the way that he looks at her is not someone who is in love. Yes, Rita is there and he might have hid his feelings, but we know that he never guarded his feelings for June around her. If you walked into a room where someone you loved committed suicide you would act differently.

I think that the tears that are in his eyes are the disgust of Gilead and what they are doing to people and handmaids in particular. This scene is in the episode Jezebels where we learn that the commanders are basically keeping people as sex slaves. Nick is smart and can see that they are signing these women’s death warrants when they make them handmaids.
