I've always found faces to have great emotional impact in paintings, but I rarely want it to be a recognizable face. I want people to see what they see. I think everyone interprets emotions differently. Whatever emotion one gets from looking at this is the right response for them.

And I returned. I had minor health and work problems, but now (I hope) everything has worked out.

This is acrylic and charcoal on a gallery wrapped canvas. It was painted because I was exploring why some relationships (friends, romantic, etc.) seem to last forever while other wear out. In this painting I created two faces that seamlessly bond together. It could be parent/child or spouses. In any case they stand next to each other through everything.
