Clea Strange is a Princess of the extradimensional Faltine race, niece of The Dread Dormammu, and a formidable magic hero in her own right; despite being raised by ruthless warlords, she chose to study magic under the tutelage of Doctor Strange; in time, they married, and eventually, she assumed her own role as Sorcerer Supreme of her native Dark Dimension (even acting as Supreme for Earth, while Strange was dead); along the way, she's aided fellow heroes like the Defenders (Strange's team & the Fearless), as well as the Avengers (including Moon Knight, America Chavez & the Scarlet Witch)!

Storm #12 - "Thunder War Ends" (2025)
written by Murewa Ayodele art by Mario Santoro & Fer Siguentes-Sujo
This is just speculation from my part but I can't shake the feeling that maybe Marvel just doesn't know what to do with its magic characters anymore:
- Strange is such an important representative of magic they had to send him to a separate part of the universe, cutting him off from all his established connections on Earth.
- Wanda is all over the place. She doesn't get consistent storylines, she's always getting a new ten-issue book that hardly touches her character's depth. Her best current stories are outside of her solo, which says a lot. Therefore, in order to get "creative", they'll give her the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme.
- Doom was glazed over and over for a recycled story that has zero depth regarding social commentary and magic lore, resetting him to the default villain status which will cost his life (as far as solicitations go, at least).
- Clea is only relevant when her husband isn't around but they still make it about him anyway because she's chasing his clone now.
- Magik suffers from the x-men formula. She'll always be tied to the tragic mutant cycle, depriving her of her autonomy as a character. Which just happened btw. She was thriving in her solo when *boom* another x-event in an alt reality.
- Maddie follows Magik concerning the x-men formula, but also bad and misogynistic writing in which for whatever reason she returns to her evil status and her obsession with one (if not two) Summers.
- I swear the last time I saw anything related to Michael or Elizabeth was just cameos back in v5 or Strange Academy. If they were in the last Alpha Flight mini at some point, I can't remember.
- Wiccan (along with Teddy) had to lose his very important status because Marvel admittedly wasn't creative enough to explore its own cosmic side. Which is a lie, Al Ewing used both Teddy and Billy in his Guardians of the Galaxy run. They'd rather strip them from their status and throw Billy back to Earth because they took too much time to hop on the MCU synergy hype train. So yeah, Billy is getting a solo, but it cost him and his husband everything.
- Jericho is the very headmaster of Strange Academy and yet he's been sided through and through to the point that Zelma had more impact in the school's mythos than him. This isn't shade to Zelma, of course, it just highlights their incompetence when addressing such an interesting and important character like Doctor Voodoo.
- Satana and Daimon are forever relegated to supporting roles (when writers remember they exist, of course).
- Loki is only an exception these days because once more Al Ewing is taking care of them. But let's be honest, for such a popular character with endless magical potential, the only time of the year when they're relevant is Pride month. If we exclude Al's work, which other writer went that far for the character? (no shade to Aligator Loki, but we know it's just a funny comic book without any relevance to the actual lore). Besides, it's very hard to see Loki outside of Thor's context.
- Whatever is going on for Agatha Harkness and this goddamned synergy.
- Nico's magic was 100% tied to the Staff of One. When she got rid of it, she wasn't able to perform magic anymore and lost her teacher position at Strange Academy, correct? So what the fuck she taught at the school? You see how this doesn't make any sense? She should have at least a little bit of magical knowledge to perform a trick or two instead of struggling and brooding like she is in the Runaways tie-in. Moreover, she deserved a solo to explore and fix this entire plot hole.
The list doesn't end here but those are the most relevant magic characters I could think of.
Those are indeed terrible times to be a magic enthusiast...

Jeff the Land Shark #5
Wanda Django Maximoff, The Scarlet Witch and her web of chaos
Included in this chaos web are puppet versions of Jericho Drumm / Brother Voodoo, Pietro Maximoff / Quicksilver, Magneto / Erik Max Magnus Lehnsherr, Magda Maximoff, Natalya Maximoff, Agatha Harkness, Simon Williams / Wonder Man, The Vision, Billy Kaplan / Wiccan, Tommy Shepherd / Speed, and Victor Von Doom / Doctor Doom. People who I feel are important to Wanda’s overall story and who are important in shaping Wanda as a person through her relationships and experiences with them.
+ a plain web and an almost ‘introduction card’ version lol
I really enjoy drawing Wanda’s side profile
