Use with low opacity for soft transitions and smooth shading. • The MAGIK LANCE (INKER): This ink brush with varying line width is based on my popular Kolinsky ink and paint brush series. The color runs out at the end of each stroke - keep painting without lifting your pen/finger to move around and paint with the existing colors. 4colorrebellion: Hi! Welcome to 4cr. Could you please present yourself to your readers?

Hi! I'm Jens K Styve. I’m a comic artist, illustrator, and writer from Tromsø, far north in Norway. After working for clients and publishers for many years, I’ve realized that what I really love the most is working on my own personal projects. I don’t even mind publishing them myself. I also try to stay away from computers - I work best with analog tools, old fashioned nibs, brushes and fountain pens.

4cr: You're currently running a Kickstarter campaign or JensK Season 1. What is the book about?

This is going to be a collection of my first five self-published comics zines. Four of these are now sold out, so it would be a perfect time to get them all collected and available in one neat book. There are around 50 pages of autobiographic content, the storyline JensK with the pointy hat character and his friends/enemies. Two stories are about a Death character coming to collect some poor souls, and the last one is in more like a noir crime fiction experiment.

4cr: Are there any significant differences between the Norwegian version of JensK Season 1 and the one that will be published in English once the Kickstarter is funded?

Hopefully the English book will look very much like the Norwegian, since I was very happy with that one. There is a five-page introduction in the Norwegian version that I’m actually not sure I’ll be able to translate, so maybe I have to come up with something new there. Also, when the story Camera Obscura was performed live with an orchestra (!) this year, I created a visual prologue to that book. If all goes well, that prologue will fit in this English version.

4cr: What are some of the rewards you're currently offering on your Kickstarter campaign?

In addition to the book itself, there will be art prints. I’ve also gathered originals that are made available for backers. Some originals are pages from the book, some are created on characters/themes from the book, and some are just original art that I wanted to add to the campaign, so that it can hopefully help it reach its goal.

4cr: Are you considering any stretch goals if the project goes above its main funding goal?

I would love to. If things go well, there must be stretch goals. I think maybe the first one has to be fake tattoos - that would be awesome. Colorful tattoos with characters/drawings from the book. Other stretch goals could be hoodies, coffee mugs, and tea towels… I’m afraid I’ll end up spending a fortune on postage!
