six sentences sunday <3
been a while since I've done one of these, so I'll share a bit now!! thanks for the tag @daisyishedwig <3
here's a little jeffbastian scene from the next chapter of fragile little flames as a little treat! I'm in the process of editing the last two chapters, and I just added this scene the other day!
Sebastian studies him for a second too long, head tilted. “What’s wrong?” “Nothing,” Jeff answers too quickly, and he’s not even sure why. He decided weeks ago there was no use lying to Sebastian. All it takes is Sebastian raising an eyebrow, and then Jeff’s given up. “I slept with Nick.” This might be the first time their entire friendship that Jeff’s surprised him. “You what?” “Not like that,” Jeff rushes to explain. “But we fell asleep together.” “Talking?” Jeff shakes his head. “Listening to music.” Sebastian rolls his eyes and pushes himself off the floor. “How the hell does Duval think he’s straight?” Jeff leans back against the wall, arms crossed tightly over his chest. He’s having a hard time with words today, and he wishes Sebastian would stop asking him to use them. Sebastian’s face softens just a little. “Be careful, okay?” Jeff looks away, biting the inside of his cheek. “I told you that we didn’t—” “You don’t have to fuck to mess yourself up,” Sebastian interrupts.
okay okay and then because I know what you all REALLY want is a little bit of until we burn out! this is a little pre regionals preview ;) I wrote this one a long time ago but thought it might be fun to share a bit anyway before I post the chapter next week!
Sebastian’s humming “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” next to him. Somehow, miraculously, he isn’t sick of hearing it. Blaine looks at him, watches him, studies the way he styles his hair and the nonchalant way he looks in the mirror while he adjusts his tie. His hair is the longest Blaine’s ever seen it, slicked back and shining, and he’s just going about his routine as if he isn’t the most beautiful person that’s ever walked the earth. Blaine wonders when he began to associate his love for the Warblers so intricately with his love for Sebastian, when the group he’s put his heart and soul into for four years became just as much about him and Sebastian as one entity as it is about the Warblers as individuals. Blaine swallows hard, turning back to the mirror and straightening his lapels as if that will stop the rush of emotion clawing at his chest. He’s always been able to compartmentalize, to separate his feelings from the performance, from the responsibility of leading the Warblers. But this is different. Today, it’s not just about winning. It’s about finishing what he started when he arrived at Dalton. It’s about giving his friends the gift of victory. It’s about hearing a crowd roar for him while Sebastian holds his hand. Sebastian catches his eye in the mirror, tilting his head slightly, as if he can sense Blaine’s nerves without a word needing to be spoken. He doesn’t say anything at first, just smirks and nudges Blaine’s elbow with his own, and he keeps humming. It’s grounding in a way that surprises Blaine, like Sebastian’s presence alone is enough to settle him. “You’re psyching yourself out,” Sebastian murmurs, finally breaking the silence. His voice is low, just for them, even though Jeff’s on the other side of him and probably just as nervous. “I’m not,” Blaine lies, adjusting his tie even though it’s already straight. Sebastian gives him a knowing look, one that makes Blaine’s pulse stutter. “You are. But don’t worry, B. We’re going to kill it. Not because we’re in some slapstick, underdog sports movie, but because we’re better.”
I'll extend a general tag to anyone interested in sharing!! I really would like to read what you're working on <3
