I think another reason mx & wh might be targeted is cuz they're "adult sexy" lollllllll. Like a lot of boy groups have that youthful, fresh faced appeal/marketing tactic, but mx is known for rlly leaning into sexy concepts - and given how touchy kpop stans are abt any group but their own having success, they resort to existing, harmful tropes that take an almost puritan approach to sexual appeal & just bash anything remotely sexy. also mx is one of the buffer groups so some stans (who are partly drawn to kpop cuz of the softer versions of masculinity, i.e. flower boys) unfairly body shame them since muscles = traditional masculinity = bad in their mind. (And tbf there is a "hypermasculine" muscle-building subculture in the us, where I'm from, that does revolve around misogyny...but its dumb & unfair to think muscles automatically equals all the worst things of patriarchy)
