Today's July 29th task for #jcfjuly was to share my #FaveSidekick. Arguably the BEST sidekick I have ever read about is Oberon in the Iron Druid Chronicles by @kevinhearne. 😄❤ . . . . Oberon is an Irish Wolfhound, and I really just adore him and Irish Wolfhounds in general. He is companion to the main character, Atticus, and so is in all of the books and most of the short stories of the Iron Druid Chronicles. 😊❤ . . . . Pictured I have the last two books in the series: Besieged, an anthology of short stories leading up to Scourged, the final book in the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne. 😍❤ . . . . Since I just refreshed my beverage to begin the #reversereadathon #readathon - it started! - I'm going to say TEA! And honestly, I usually prefer tea, despite the fact that I drank enough tea to last me several lifetimes when I lived in Russia 22-23 years ago. 😄❤ . . . . It's just that nowadays I mostly drink ICED tea [in all seasons]. 😊 I'll drink HOT coffee, but not in the summer. It's too hot here in the summer for hot drinks. 😥 . . . . This is a perfectly witchy book that also has a lot of other fantasy elements. Photo One shares Book One in the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews, Magic Bites. The land in this series is magical, sometimes. You see, the setting in this series is an in-process apocalyptic one, because the Earth is waffling between periods of technology and periods of magic. And when the magic is "awake," it "eats" the technology. So, buildings crumble, phones and gasoline-powered cars don't work, and it's GREAT! 😄😍❤ . . . . Magic Bites and the rest of the Kate Daniels series are by my favorite author of Urban Fantasy books, Ilona Andrews. @deweysreadathon's #deweyjuly task for today's #reversereadathon countdown is to share my #FavoriteAuthor. 😊 . . . . Was it yesterday that I shared that Ilona Andrews AND Laurell K. Hamilton are my favorite authors of Urban Fantasy books and series? Well, Laurell K. Hamilton's series include erotic sex. Ilona Andrews has erotic sex in some of her books (like the Hidden Legacy trilogy... Somebody fan me). But, to me, it feels like LKH writes stories around the sex, while IA writes stories with sex. Hopefully this explanation makes sense. 😊 . . . . I do love Laurell K. Hamilton's books and series, and her books are my go-to for sexy times with my stories. But Ilona Andrews is arguably my go-to for when I want Urban Fantasy stories. I like a bit of romance in my Urban Fantasy stories, and boy howdy! Does Ilona Andrews ever give it to me! 😄❤ . . . . Photo Two shares most of the book ones in Ilona Andrews' series. I have all of the books in all of their series, but gathering 21+ books when they're scattered here, there, and everywhere was beyond me. So you get just the book ones. 😊 . . . . First, there's On the Edge, book one in The Edge series. I don't think I've read books two through four, but I own them and hope to read them soon. 😊 . . . . Next to On the Edge is Burn for Me, book one in the Hidden Legacy trilogy. Then there's Clean Sweep, first book in the Innkeeper Chronicles, and, lastly, Magic Bites, which begins Kate Daniels. 😍❤

Today's July 7th task for #jcfjuly is to share a #BookTomb. I wasn't sure what to post for this, but I found two different options that hopefully work as book tombs! 😊🎉❤ . . . . First, in the first photo above you can see Harry Potter books six and seven. After I read book six for the first time when it was new, I was so devastated by a death in this book that I just couldn't bear to read book seven when it was new. It took me ten years - plus the encouragement/badgering of a friend - to get me to reread this series and continue on to book seven. (Actually, I think I read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows eight years after if it was published, but it was ten years from when I read book six, so...) . . . . I am actually rather surprised to be rereading this series this soon. I last read it from October 27th through November 5th of 2015, so it hasn't even been three years! I'm not ready! 😭 . . . . So please, prepare a tomb for me for when I finish this reread. And ready a humongous tomb for all of the characters whose deaths are coming. 😭 . . . . In other news, Photo Two is of the two boxes of books that are BEHIND two boxes of books in the dining room, behind the table. I had to crawl under the dining room table to get this photo. Pictured I have my MOST favorite book (it's a stand-alone!), Absolutely, Positively by Jayne Ann Krentz, with two other of my top favorite books, both by Jennifer Crusie: Manhunting and Getting Rid of Bradley. 😍❤😍 . . . . I really love all three of these books. All have been of great comfort to me when I've been really depressed and/or anxious.
