Chapter preview: And it was then that any casual ease Blake might’ve had vanished – and with it, any pretense of this having been a friendly encounter to begin with. “I see.” The air darkened around her, and she stopped leaning on the low wall, her stance tensing as she uncrossed her arms and shifted her weight – the change was imperceptible, but everything about her body now radiated the coiled power of a predator. Gold irises flashed like lightning, and Yang was suddenly very much aware of who, exactly, was standing there before her, especially when her bracer warmed up uncomfortably. “If this is who you insist on wanting to deal with, then here I am, Operative Ember – Nightshade –” she bowed then, deliberate, one arm behind her back and the other extended to the side, but kept those dangerous glowing eyes staring right at Yang, “– at your service.”

Chapter 5 of RWBY Bumbleby story Bound by Blood - Vale is now revamped! Summary: "Vampires have struck in Vale.
And it's not like that's new, but it is new for Vale. Enforcers Yang and Pyrrha are sent to investigate the situation -- only to find there is more going on here than murders and disappearances. There are such things as ancient evils lurking in the dark.
Except someone, something, is forcing Nightshade's hand -- forced her out of her vault, out of the dark, and straight into Yang's sights. And Nightshade is far more entangled in this Vale case than she initially seems. In fact, she may be the one pulling all the strings. She may even be the most dangerous killer Yang has ever met.
Except there's a terrible sadness in Nightshade. And it doesn't make sense, but it's there and it's all-consuming and she couldn't possibly be so evil if she regrets so much. Torn between protecting the mortal world and her growing affection for the creature she's been ordered to destroy, Yang unravels the web of secrets in Vale thread by thread -- and maybe unravels herself while she's at it, too."

RWBY Bumbleby fic Bound by Blood - Vale, chapter 7, is posted! Finally done with revamping the previous chapters, so now readers finally get to see the story progress! Chapter 7 preview:
“Okay. You want to talk with her again. What if she refuses? What if she attacks?”
What if…
It may not have been purposeful, but the question poked at Yang’s guilt. Blake hadn’t even answered her message from last night. And it wasn’t like the vampire had gone to sleep. Vampires didn’t do that. So, she was either dead, or ignoring Yang – and since the former seemed unlikely, then Yang was getting the bad feeling Blake was beginning to show her true colors.
If Blake couldn’t justify herself, couldn’t bring herself to even care about being accountable for her actions, then there was very little reason left for Yang to keep dragging Pyrrha through this nonsense – or for Yang to keep investing the own fucks she gave and should never have been investing in the first place.
So, despite the hurt she felt, Yang firmed her expression and finally replied, “If she refuses or attacks? Then we do our job and protect the mortal world.”
