ill be honest i havent thought about like... new developments per say. i havent actually thought about sparkleswap much while i wasnt posting about it. other interests were busy grabbing me by the neck ykyk?
i think i was developing tilly before the hiatus though. i like the idea of him being jay's online friend! he deals with a lot of intrusive thoughts which he's afraid makes him a bad person. and jay's attitude of "you are incapable of being a bad person" because they believe being a 'bad person' is like. an inherent part of your soul or whatever. is a pretty handy band-aid fix to tilly's problems.
idk i like exploring jay as a complex character. they're deeply annoying and awful but in a way that is a lot more human than someone like barry imo. and because of that i think it's important to explore their capacity to be a good force in people's lives as well as how they can absolutely ruin others. i find it really fun to think of the ways that they can be a victim and a perpetrator at different times in the same situation (ie: all/most of cyclecare)
this turned into more of a jay post than a tilly one but thats ok bc tilly exists mostly to facilitate jay development and im not ashamed to admit that. that's because jay is my favorite character next to polly. and yes i hate them both. like jay, i too am multifaceted.
