I'd forgotten there was going to be a season 2 of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, an oversight I've quickly corrected.

Season 1 gave us insanely weird adventures in a Galaxy which is like the one we know... but not. Where Tattooine is a water planet, Palpatine is one of the noblest Jedi and Darth Jar-Jar seeks galactic domination

I won't even spoil 1/10th of Season2, except that it involves ending up in a world where fragments of abandoned galaxies co-exist.

So we get an appearance from THIS guy

Well, he's not wrong there!

And later, thanks to even greater nuttiness, we meet Luke and Leia's mother... Queen Amidala...

aided by former bounty hunter Threepio, and his new associate, the pirate droid Arrrr!-2 D2

And then, as these things do, Amidala sentences several of them to death... well, not Luke and Leia... as her skiff takes them to a vaguely familiar location

And it pains me that there is (currently) no actual minifgure of Luke, who thought they were going swimming and dressed accordingly (and in an... oddly familiar style for a Skywalker on a sail barge.

Then we get one of THE best gags in the whole thing as we find that unlike our world, the heroes are not going to be thrown into the Sarlacc Pit... they're being thrown into...

How do you manage to create something which is a homage, a spoof, and a magnificent diss on one of the most pointless things the Sequel Trilogy inflicted on us AND make it genuinely funny?
