He held up his hand to knock again when the door flew open, and he honestly couldn’t believe she was right there in front of him--alive. He just stared at her, dumbstruck, with his hand hovering in front of him as if he had forgotten what to do next. He shook his head as he let out a breath he hadn’t realized he had been holding. “Well, I guess we now know why the locator spell hadn’t been working. And here I thought my mother made a mistake when she brought me here.”

“Oh! That’s such a cool thing you do with the colors,” he said excitedly as his hair and beard became a mosaic of colors. “I honestly just wanted a bit of a hair cut and a maybe a shave, but now I’m thinking about doing bright colors--the kids would get a crack out of that,” he said as he looked at Jasmine. “How’s your dad by the way? I heard you went on a cool trip taking pictures and stuff. I really like your work on Instagram!”

“This is absurd. What does practicing these weird breathing techniques have anything to with me practicing magic?” He asked irritably as he glared at his friend. Normally, he’d usually have more patience when it came to his magic training with his sisters, but with all the unrest in the island, he didn’t think he had the time to meditate and chant while people were out there probably disappearing as they relaxed in this space. They were wasting their time. The bags under his eyes have gotten heavier and the circles were growing darker as the days passed. He could definitely feel the shift in his moods, lately. “I’m sorry for snapping at you. This is all just so exhausting.”

He sat on one of the leather seats and stared at his own reflection. He really wasn’t want for drastic changes. He was used to simple haircuts, nothing to crazy since his life goal up to this point had always been to blend in and not attract any attention unless he meant to. “Just hit me with one color at a time. I kind of want to see how each color looks on me. If those K-pop idols can rock blue maybe I can too,” he half joked. He could look like anyone he wanted, but at the end of the day, it was still all an illusion.
