i was decently interested in jaskier/radovid by sheer force of the actors and their chemistry but now that i'm playing the witcher 3 and learning that radovid canonically becomes a warlord king who hates all nonhumans and magic users my interest has reached COSMIC levels. good god the angst is delicious. they separate just in time for radovid to go home and see his brother bleeding out on the carpet, get crowned king literally half a second later while his brother's body is still warm, eventually find out it was the work of a sorceress, and fall down a rabbit hole of bigotry that he can't crawl out of. he's implementing anti-magic laws. he's indirectly responsible for a slew of hate crimes across the continent. and meanwhile jaskier, who not only has spent months risking his life to ferry elves to safety when they were being persecuted but ALSO has chosen as family three people who are all some degree of nonhuman and all magic users, gets to see the man who told him with full sincerity that he'd become someone worthy of his affection then become a king who basically condones his subjects burning people at the stake and running magic users out of their homes and raping and pillaging etc etc. i'm going insane over this. if this is what's in store for season 4 i'm gonna start eating glass
