Understated softest moment in Lady Midnight is when one of the trans women she's hanging with paints a lil picture of her and shows it to her. And she smiles so big and radiant for the first time in a long time. And they all just hang out in silence and drink tea or coffee or whatever. And she puts her head on her shoulders. And she lets her. Ough. These women are just lonely souls in the outskirts of society haunting their places of work (and domesticity, if they even have that). And they come alive the most when they're in company of others who just fucking let them be, and see them, and accept them.
