"How Trump Hijacked America's 250th Birthday" (possibly committing "wire fraud" along the way)
REP. JARED HUFFMAN (July 2, 2026): "America's 250th birthday is being run by a shadow company.... Freedom 250 has raised millions of dollars. It's selling access to the president. And it won't tell you who's paying or where the money goes. This is how Trump hijacked America's birthday." [color emphasis added]
It is worth the time to watch this video. The corruption involved in Trump's Freedom 250 organization is outrageous.
Below are some GIFs & highlights from the video [color/emphasis added]:
When Trump couldn't "hijack" the bipartisan America 250 Commission, Trump formed Freedom 250, an LLC "shell company" that was placed inside the National Park Foundation charity; consequently, donors' names can remain hidden.
Trump also diverted funds to Freedom 250 that were allocated for America 250.
"Congress had set aside $150 million to celebrate our 250th. The America 250 Commission was promised $100 million of that funding, but in November of 2025, the White House told the America 250 chairwoman she would only get 50 million. And in the months that followed, they whittled it down to just 25 million. The rest of the money was taken by Freedom 250."
Then: "Freedom 250 went after the real Commission's corporate sponsors. Not just donations, but a quid pro quo of access to Trump in exchange for cash. Lockheed Martin, Exxon Mobile, Chevron, Mastercard, United Airlines, United Health."
"Fundraisers misled donors who intended to support the America 250 Commission by giving them Freedom 250's banking information. And through this bait and switch, contributions meant for the nonpartisan Birthday Foundation were routed to Trump's Shadow Corporation instead. This is potential wire fraud."
Meanwhile, National Park employees were ordered to remove "factual signs about slavery, climate change, and the forced removal of Native Americans" and replace them with signs that conveyed a whitewashed, “distorted version of history.”
"They paid out 10 million taxpayer dollars for a fleet of trucks, running PragerU videos"...
..."and an AI generated George Washington that tells school kids that their rights are a gift from God. something the real Washington never said. They're parading these proselytizing propaganda trucks in front of schools on your dime."

Democrats managed to stop Republicans from giving more money to ICE in the DHS budget
Did you know that?
Probably not because people would rather talk about what they think Democrats aren’t doing than what they are.
Luckily, you have me and I made a YouTube video (with a transcript for those who don’t wanna watch) all about that and three other stories!
Epic trolling from Congressman Huffman.
But I need to see if the Republicans thought he was serious. Hard to imagine that they didn’t.

I am old enough to remember how fun the bicentennial was. It was basically a year long party for History nerds, which my family all was.
They spent all this money refurbishing, expanding, and upgrading historical sites and museums. I am from Philly, which was a great place to be for it. My family went to so many things. There were all these extra field trips.
There were fairs and parades and special events. My school went all out with a historical reenactment fair and plays and things.
It was so much fun, you know? And it felt good.
They didn't go around sanitizing and rewriting history and dismantling exhibits like the Republicans are doing now.
They left in the slaves and truth about the personal behavior of the founding fathers. Again, I'm from Philly. Ben Franklin is big there. His house is there. There is a whole ass museum with inventions and these cool dioramas with dolls and stuff. Independence hall is there. They left in Ben Franklin's life long philandering and alcoholism late in life. They left in the slaves and the messy situation with his illegitimate loyalist son. I was too little at the time to understand all the sex bits, but they were still showing the film with it in as I got older.
I would rather love America enough to want to make it better instead of papering over the past and current problems in order to make is so much worse.
Instead of a nation wide year long party we get this piss dribble on the National Mall and propaganda trucks touring the South to tell lies about history and the censoring of colleges and museums and historical plagues.
Seriously, Our county fair here is so much bigger and better than the embarrassing mess on the national mall, and our State fair is exponentially better and those things are pure fun instead of boring ass nonsense with things like "a baptism tent" and dangerous stages that nearly kill musicians and guys trying to convince children that the only thing wrong with the witch trials was they weren't fascist enough. O.o Also, I'm pretty sure the Bicentennial didn't involve government officials embezzling and doing wire fraud. Allegedly, but the reporting sure lines up with everything we are seeing.
