JANUARAPTOR D 21: Yutyrannus Huali
My sole (super late) entry for the DrawDinosDaily art challenge of January! I doubt doing many, but I will grab the ones that interest me the most as an excuse to learn more about dinosaur species I didn't know about... and to get better with my Mixed-Media art style ππ¦
Yes, that's an actual clay figurine I did myself! I will show photos of it and each stage of the process under the cut:
Januaraptor day 30, toco toucan. Caught the idea early on to make this some sort of counterpart to the king vulture from day 8. Like if they were characters in a show, they would hang together, idk why. But I leaned into that to make this one also a quadruped with partially feathered wings.
Januaraptor day 29, Zalmoxes robustus. Their horns grow continually throughout their lives, becoming longer, heavier, and counting more tines. The wyvern with the most impressive headgear takes charge of the group.
Januaraptor day 28, scarlet flycatcher. These small quad-wing wyverns hunt primarily from perches, using their thumb claws to cling onto branches or other surfaces. Once prey is spotted, their use their four wings to quickly take to the air.

At this point I should practice bird stylization to make this more fun
Uploading both of these at once. I did do day 26 on time, was just too tired and lazy to post it.
Anyway - a sub and a twink
Januaraptor day 27, Navaornis hestiae. A strange primitive quad-wing wyvern whose existence divides researches in two groups. Is it an early quad-wing wyvern whose front legs are still developing into an identical pair of wings, or a wyvern whose wings are turning back into front legs?
