This gown was most recently seen in the BBC's 2005 adaptation of Charles Dickens' ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ ๐ฏ๐๐๐๐, where Natalie Press wore it as Caddy Jellyby. ย But that's not where it began its life. ย Four years earlier, Victoria Hamilton wore the dress as Queen Victoria in the 2001 production ๐ฝ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ & ๐จ๐๐๐๐๐. ย The costume was originally created for the 1997 adaptation of ๐ฑ๐๐๐ ๐ฌ๐๐๐, where Samantha Morton wore it in the title role. ย Who designed this piece? I was watching Anne with an E on Netflix and much to ny delight, I noticed that the episodes are named after Jane Eyre lines and now my day is made!
