A picture of my bookshelf. These 2 shelves are all the language books I purchased over the past 4 years. Mostly on www.abebooks.com, www.thriftbooks.com, or www.amazon.com (their used books). They were very cheap! Most times only $3 - $5 including shipping. A little more with Amazon used books. Sometimes to get good Yonsei and Sogang books I had to stalk abebooks ever few weeks or so, someone would post the book i wanted eventually. The only books I paid full price for was ~ Korean Writing for Beginners by Hollym It was one of my first Korean books and this helped me the most with my writing (when Integrated Korean got a little boring, this was a nice change). I absolutely love it. It was $20 at the time and Worth every penny! ~ Korean Grammar in Use by Darakwon I purchased this because after seeing its contents and read its reviews it sounded too good to pass. I hope you can find it used, there weren’t any used available when I looked. It was $25 when I bought it. I like it, it is my favorite go to book for grammar. It’s worth purchasing, when I get through it I will be purchasing the Intermediate then Advanced levels. It’s that good. I shopped www.twochois.com to see the book reviews, they have such a great collection of language books! I am still wanting to get some of theirs, they have some I couldn’t find elsewhere. The reason I love their site is because they have great preview pages, photos, descriptions, and barcodes. (Use the barcodes when looking up used books)The reason I hav yet to purchase from them is because the shipping rate to Kansas is too high. www.Bandibookus.com also has good previews if you can read hangul to navigate their site or type a few words in a search bar. Even English labels like TOPIK, Korean Grammar, etc. Are easy to search. Good children books too! Now, I haven’t purchased anything yet, but I plan to. When I get to intermediate Korean I would love to purchase Japanese and Thai language books there. If you browse the sites and see a book you like but it does not have a preview, sometimes blogs or YouTube will have a book review for it if you search the title or barcode. If there are any books you'de like me to show you let me know, I can take pictures of the lessons inside or make a quick video. I plan to start a YT channel soon to follow my studies, so I may be doing book reviews in the future. I’ll keep you posted.
