James 1:4-5
Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
Does anyone remember in red, white and royal blue (book for this not film) when Henry was talking about how James 1 had a male lover who was called George?
Well Nicholas Galitzine is going to be playing said lover in a uk historical drama.
We have come full circle guys!
What Are you Thankful For?
James 1:17 says "Every good and perfect gift comes from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change."
This shows how every single good thing ever to have happened is a blessing from God! Nothing is good apart from him, only a broken attempt to.
Since God is so good reblog with 3-5 things you are thankful for. Being grateful is one of the best ways to draw near to God and find contentment.
Here are mine:
That my dog found an amazing home
For my wonderful, dear friends with whom I do book club
For my gift of writing and imagination
For wonderful, inspiring stories like LotR and HTTYD that have moved me personally (and furthered my faith, though that may sound surprising :)
For close family to be with for Thanksgiving!
đŚđŚ Happy Thanksgiving!!! đŚđŚ
God against favoritism
I found it interesting while reading my verses this morning, Jamesâ importance of not finding favoritism-
My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. 2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. 3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, âHereâs a good seat for you,â but say to the poor man, âYou stand thereâ or âSit on the floor by my feet,â 4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?
Wow- interestingâŚ. Donât favorite the rich over the poor, huh?
5 Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? 6 But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? 7 Are they not the ones who are blaspheming the noble name of him to whom you belong?
Sound familiar?
The RICH are the ones exploiting the POOR. Itâs been this way since the beginning of time.
Proverbs 15:16Â - Better to be poor and fear the Lord than to be rich and in trouble. 17 Better to eat vegetables with people you love than to eat the finest meat where there is hate.
THE BIBLE IS FOR THE POOR- NOT FOR THE RICH
Something every modern church just so happens to ignore⌠đ¤ˇââď¸
James 1 says-
27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
That means- the religion of the modern church is POLLUTED!

Salutations
1 From James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. To Godâs faithful peopleâ who have been scattered. Greetings.
When You Are Tested, Turn to God
2 My brothers and sisters, be very happy when you are tested in different ways. 3 You know that such testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 Endure until your testing is over. Then you will be mature and complete, and you wonât need anything.
5 If any of you needs wisdom to know what you should do, you should ask God, and he will give it to you. God is generous to everyone and doesnât find fault with them. 6 When you ask for something, donât have any doubts. A person who has doubts is like a wave that is blown by the wind and tossed by the sea. 7 A person who has doubts shouldnât expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 A person who has doubts is thinking about two different things at the same time and canât make up his mind about anything.
9 Humble believers should be proud because being humble makes them important. 10 Rich believers should be proud because being rich should make them humble. Rich people will wither like flowers. 11 The sun rises with its scorching heat and dries up plants. The flowers drop off, and the beauty is gone. The same thing will happen to rich people. While they are busy, they will die.
12 Blessed are those who endure when they are tested. When they pass the test, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. 13 When someone is tempted, he shouldnât say that God is tempting him. God canât be tempted by evil, and God doesnât tempt anyone. 14 Everyone is tempted by his own desires as they lure him away and trap him. 15 Then desire becomes pregnant and gives birth to sin. When sin grows up, it gives birth to death.
16 My dear brothers and sisters, donât be fooled. 17 Every good present and every perfect gift comes from above, from the Father who made the sun, moon, and stars. The Father doesnât change like the shifting shadows produced by the sun and the moon.
18 God decided to give us life through the word of truth to make us his most important creatures.
19 Remember this, my dear brothers and sisters: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and should not get angry easily. 20 An angry person doesnât do what God approves of. 21 So get rid of all immoral behavior and all the wicked things you do. Humbly accept the word that God has placed in you. This word can save you.
22 Do what Godâs word says. Donât merely listen to it, or you will fool yourselves. 23 If someone listens to Godâs word but doesnât do what it says, he is like a person who looks at his face in a mirror, 24 studies his features, goes away, and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 However, the person who continues to study Godâs perfect laws that make people free and who remains committed to them will be blessed. People like that donât merely listen and forget; they actually do what Godâs laws say.
26 If a person thinks that he is religious but canât control his tongue, he is fooling himself. That personâs religion is worthless. 27 Pure, unstained religion, according to God our Father, is to take care of orphans and widows when they suffer and to remain uncorrupted by this world. â James 1 | God's Word Translation (GWT) The Holy Bible, GODâS WORDÂŽ Translation Copyright 1995 by Godâs Word to the Nations. My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.
