Upcycled pants from old pants
My partner is much larger than me and he had some pants that don't fit him any more, so they went into the "salvage fabric" pile.
I was suddenly struck by the idea of making me-sized pants from the fabric!
Left: a me-sized pant front pattern piece, laying on top of the front piece of the pant fabric. Right: the back piece.
I'm just so dang tickled by this idea! I'm not even sure I'll actually follow through at this point because it just seems too novel to be achievable? 😆
Also, for the back piece, his pants have welt pockets (which means I can't get rid of them without destroying fabric). And the way the pattern piece fits on this fabric means I would have to use his pockets. But that means the pocket positioning might not be ideal for me.
....which might mean that I'll have to install a patch pocket on top of the welt pocket! 😆
See? This whole thing just seems hilarious to me!
