"Milo, toss me the elastic headband from your backpack."

Without a second thought, Milo flung the headband to Amanda, and she stretched it across the legs of a fallen chair, before picking it up and shielding it in front of them.

An incoming blast of rubble hit into the elastic, pulled back, then shot itself forward.

"How did you know I had an elastic headband in my backpack today?"

"I know you take meticulous care to plan your day, Milo," Amanda said, "so I hope you're willing to let me do the same."

Milo smiled. "I'd like that a lot."
