After a grueling day at work, all you wanted to do once you got home was shower and get in bed. The never-ending stream of conference calls and meetings punctuated with answering emails left you drained mentally and physically. However, when you opened the front door and spotted a familiar pair of sneakers sitting on the shoe rack, you were immediately invigorated.
Jackson was home!
You all but dropped your stuff on the bench as you kicked off your shoes. It was quiet save for the hum of the ice maker in the freezer. Maybe he was asleep? You tiptoed down the hallway and sure enough, the light of your life was laid out across the bed on his stomach using his arms as a pillow. His expression was a picture of serenity as he snuggled your favorite hoodie. Your heart swelled with affection. How does he continue to surprise you with his cute little habits?
There was no telling how long heâd been home, but you needed your hugs and kisses. You crawled over to his side and laid beside him, gently prying his hands away from his head then forcing your way against his chest. In the midst of your shuffling, he woke up groggy and sluggish as he registered what was going on.
âYouâre home?â He blinked slowly, then looked at the window. âWhat time is it?â
âItâs almost five.â Seeing as he was awake, there was no point in being gentle. You rolled him over onto his side and pulled his arms around you. His scent filled your nose, and you sagged with relief, savoring his warmth. âWhy didnât you tell me youâd be home today? I wouldâve met you at the airport.â
He chuckled at your whiny tone as he drew you close and planted a kiss on your forehead. âI wanted to surprise you. Actually,â he drew back and kissed your lips, âI wanted to show up at your job and take you out for lunch. I guess I underestimated how tired I was and how much I missed our bed.â
You forced a pout, just barely keeping yourself from smiling. âThe bed? What about me?â
âOh, hush. You know I hate being away from you this long.â He hid his face in your neck. âWhy do you insist on being all strong and independent? You could come with me! See the world and join the mile high club and stuff.â
You laughed. âWhy do I get the feeling the sex is the motivating factor?â
âNo, no. Itâs a perk. A bonus, if you will.â He kissed your neck, letting his lips linger. âThe motivation is having my beautiful girlfriend with me. Itâd be so much better if I could wake up with you in my arms.â
You squirmed against him when his teeth skimmed over your sensitive skin. âIâd ruin your image and hurt your sales.â You bit your lip when his fingers pressed into your skin, holding you still as he put his thigh between yours. âAh, shit. Wait, Jackie. I need a shower.â
His chuckle made it clear that wouldnât be happening. âPerforming isnât my only source of income, baby. I can stand to lose a few, especially if it means I get access to you when I get off the stage.â He groaned and pressed his hips against you, drawing your attention to his growing excitement. âItâs been too long since I last had you.â
âBut I wanna be squeaky clean for you.â Your squirming only served to increase the friction between your bodies, coaxing him to return the favor by rolling his hips and grinding his erection into your stomach. âJack, please.â
âUgh, I hear you.â He loosened his hold. âBut if you need one, then so do I.â
With the haze of desire messing with your mind, it took you a minute to process his words. âIf we slip and fall in the shower, itâs your fault.â
He smiled wide with glee as he hauled himself to his feet. He held his hand out to you, ignoring the tent that had formed. âIâll make sure to take the worst of it. Now come on, I need you now before I bust in my pants.â

english isnât my first language. jackson wang. idol â just a tired boyfriend who wants to sleep more ï·Œ
đđ·đŽ đ°đ»đ°đđŒ wakes you up, making you complain about the time interrupting your dream but you know if you donât wake up, Jackson wonât do it just because how tired he is.
You try to untangle his arms from your hips and the warmth of his bare chest is tempting you to fall asleep again until another alarm sounds. You take a sit on the bed, feeling him move around half sleep, wrapping his arms around your hips and thighs. âBabe, we have to wake upâ You say, feeling a little bit cold since the warmth of his body disappeared after you took a seat.
You hear him complain about it and as soon you try to get up, he pulls you onto the bed and you end up on top of him. âPrincess, itâs a private flight, we can leave at anytime so letâs sleep moreâ He says without opening an eye, making you sigh.
You take a sit in his lap and touch his tousled hair, feeling his hands running up your thighs until they end up on your ass. âI know babe but your mom said she wanted us to be there as soon as possibleâ
You talked about that last night and your boyfriend said yes, but you knew that it was going to be different later. Then, he opens his eyes and smiles at you when you give him a little kiss.
âCan you do this for me, please? I just donât want to disappoint your momâ You beg, caressing his hair between your fingers.
âYouâre not going to disappoint her, she already loves youâ He confirms and he seems to fall asleep again.
âItâs her birthday and she said she wanted us to be there soonâ
Youâre in Paris since both of you had some work to do and your mother in lawâs birthday party is in two days, so you want to be there as quickly as possible.
Jackson opens his eyes again, smiling at you. âWhatever my princess saysâ He looks at you at the same time you tie up your messy hair and your pajamaâs top reveals your belly. âNice view thoughâ He says flirtatiously, making you giggle.
Fifty minutes later, youâre at the hotel lobby waiting for the car thatâs taking you to the airport while you sit in his lap in silence, thinking if you should take a nap in his arms or wait a little more.
âJust sleep baby, you need some restâ
You look at him with surprise wondering how he just read your mind so quickly, but you donât say anything and rest your head in his shoulder, closing your eyes and falling asleep in his warmth embrace.
Youâre half sleep when he takes you in his arms to the car and then, you can only remember being at the airplane sleeping in his chest while heâs using his phone, knowing that is going to be a long flight.
âWeâre almost there,â you try to comfort Jackson who is holding onto you from behind.Â
âHow do you know?â his voice muffled as his face is buried deep in your hoodie.Â
âI mean, we just walked by a sign that said âAlmost thereâ, so,â you trail off as you play with the ends of his hair.Â
He huffs and takes his face out from your back and switches his position to next to you. âAnd they said it was a scary maze! Hah, nothing scary about this dark corn maze,â he puffs his chest out and starts walking confidently.Â
âNot scary? What about those high-pitched screams you let out when we were in the middle of the maze, and we bumped into the other couple?â you ask, nudging him with your shoulder.
He rolls his eyes and lets go of your hand. âWhatever,â he mumbles.
âNo!â you laugh gently and hold onto his arm. âIâm just joking with you, my brave man.âÂ
âHell yeah Iâm your brave man!â he shouts out confidently, stopping in the middle of the path to pose.Â
You shush him as he reaches out to hold your hand again. You bury your face his chest, and you both start giggling.Â
âCome on, Iâm getting hungry,â you tug on his hand as you both start walking again.
âWhen we reach the end,â he hesitantly starts after a minute, his pace starting to slow down as you see the exit.Â
âYes?â you ask after a moment of silence. Â
He stops walking completely causing you to stop as well. âNothing is going to pop out right?â
âI donât think-,â you were cut off with your boyfriendâs scream as a man with an axe jumps out of the from the middle of the corn field.Â
Jackson takes off for the exit, but not without picking you up first.Â
âFuck this,â Jackson yells as you stay still in shock.Â
At least he wouldnât leave me behind, you think, giggling lightly, as Jackson sprints with you in his arms towards the exit.Â

Jackson searched your gaze before slipping his hand to the nape of your neck, inching your mouth closer to his. You sighed upon contact, losing yourself in yet another mind-blowing kiss.
Finally pulling away enough to gauge your heady expression, Jackson smiled softly. "I don't want to go."
"I know."
"But you want me to go," he said with a groan, dropping his head to your shoulder, inhaling deeply.
"If I had it my way, you wouldn't have to leave," you reminded, a prickle of guilt rising in your chest. "But staying here means you'll be too far from home when the working week begins."
"I hate how far away you are from me," he admitted, running a hand up and down your spine. It felt as if his hand was searching for a pathway that would make this weekend last even just fifteen minutes longer.
Jackson had already stalled long enough, and it would be the early hours before he got back to the city now.
"Every road I take intentionally leads me back to you, you know."
"Don't be silly," you breathed, trying not to get too wrapped up in the man.
But it was hard. He owned your heart these days.
"I hate that I know you cry when I leave too," he continued, finally lifting his head away from your shoulder, chancing a look at you. You weren't quick enough to divert your eyes, his thumb gently reaching to wipe just below your watery eyes. "I can't dry them if I'm not here."
"Stop it," you whispered, and Jackson stilled for a moment, shaking his head.
"I can't. I can't leave you tonight," he announced before crashing his lips back down on yours, the supercharged moment causing you to lose what remained of your feeble excuses to allow him to leave.
Clinging to his shirt, you were desperate for him to stay. To forget the responsibilities he was shirking for you. To somehow make the pathway between where you both lived smaller. If only you were in a position to leave your job, you would. If only the city was closer. You hoped for a light to shine down, showing you the resolution you so badly craved.
But for now, Jackson's arms were sliding down and under your bottom, strong hands hoisting you up into his embrace. You were falling again. Back into the bed you had spent far too long in already wrapped up in his love.
You couldn't let him leave you now.

You let out a deep breath, followed by a grimace from the sharp pain you feel from the back of your heel. The music continues to thump against the clubâs walls and your friends remain on the dance floor, dancing the night away and singing along with the lyrics. Meanwhile, you remained in the boothâwhich is due to your thoughtlessness of not bringing an extra pair of shoes.
The night was slowly dwindling down and you can feel your social battery depleting. Squatting down from your seat, you unzip the back of the heels to release your feet of the blistering pains. Your head is already throbbing, either due to the loud music or the few drinks youâve drowned. You wanted nothing more than to go home and fold into the bedsheets, but that also means getting undressed, taking off your makeup, and all that extra work.
And just like that, your prayers to escape have been answered as Jackson comes into view. He spots you in the corner and you immediately wave him over to your booth. He smiles brightly as he makes his way towards you. Once he gets close enough, you greet him.
âHey you,â you say with a little wave.
He takes another look at you in the seat. âYou look like youâre having fun.â
âTotally.â
He lets out a laugh before offering you a hand to pull yourself off the leather seats and into his arms. Even though you only had a few drinks, you fell into him easily as you always have and let yourself be carried out of the clubânot without saying goodbye to your friends (a few of them greeted Jackson as well).
The two of you end up on the streets as he walks you to his car. Itâs quiet, but itâs comfortable. Even without using your feet fully, they twitch in painâcausing you to slow down a bit.
âWhy did you pick those shoes?â he asks. âI know you hate wearing them.â
âItâs called fashion,â you say with a pout. âThey go with the outfit.â
He stops walking, causing you to nearly trip over him.
âWhat?â you ask.
He thinks for a moment. âDo you want a piggyback ride or do you wanna switch shoes?â
âYouâd wear my heels for me?â
âOf course.â
You pout at him with adoration pouring out of your eyes. âI love you.â
âI love you too,â he says. He lightly nudges you further into the sidewalk, away from the cars, and kneels down to your heels, slipping them off.
âThis is like reverse Cinderella,â you mumble.
He chuckles at the comment, but doesnât say muchâhe just takes off his shoes and slips them onto your feet. He nods to himself as he looks at your feet that are now comfortably in his shoes, noting the forming blister on your heel.
âWell, does the shoes fit?â
You beam at him. âNo.â
His smile drops a bit.
âBut the effort is appreciated.â You reach out your hand to caress his cheek. âThank you.â
His smile returns, much softer this time. He gets up, slipping on your heels that are a bit smaller than his feetâbut he makes no complaint (although he does tumble a bit once he stands up).
âCome on,â he says, locking you into his arms once more. âLetâs go home.â
âSo how did the big proposal go? Where is Y/N?â
âWe broke up last week.â Jackson muttered, still laying in hotel room bed.
âWhat?!â Jinyoung yelled over the phone. âHow do you go from almost proposing to breaking up?!â
âThings happen.â Jackson shrugged trying to remain unaffected, âI guess it just wasnât meant to be.â
âPardon my language, but thatâs bullshit.â Jinyoung replied. âYou and Y/N are perfect together! I donât know what happened but if you want to be with her you have to go fight for her, fight for your relationship.â
âItâs not that simple.â The heartbroken man spoke, âI want to be with her, but itâs just not possible. Weâre too different, we wouldnât work long term.âÂ
âI donât get it.â Jinyoung rolled his eyes. âIsn't that what you loved about her? All your differences made you two stronger. She brought a new perspective to your life.â
Jackson mulled over Jinyoungâs words, even when he was 7,000 miles away he was right as usual. âI have to go.â
âJackson I know youâre upset, but moping around in bed and feeling sorry for yourself isnât going to do any good.âJinyoung reprimanded his friend. âGet up off your ass up and go get her back, or come back home. Either way you need to make a decision.â
âYeah. Okay.âÂ
Sighing, Jinyoung said goodbye before hanging up the phone. As the call screen disappeared Jackson was confronted with his lock screen, a photo of you with your eyes scrunched up, laughing at something dumb heâd said.
Softly smiling, Jackson ran his thumb over the screen and on your face. Distraught by the image he decided to turn his phone off and placed on the table by the bed.
Laying in the sheets, he stared at the hotel ceiling. Jackson shouldâve gone back the night the two of you had broken up, but instead heâd decided to stay for the rest of the days of his trip. His flight back to Korea was scheduled for tomorrow, but he felt something keeping him here.
That something was you.
Things couldnât end like this. You were the love of his life! So what if things in the future for you two werenât exactly clear cut? As long as you loved each other, you would be able to work it out. Heâd move here for you if he had to. He would do anything for you, all you had to do was say the word.
Jumping out of bed, Jackson raced to get his clothes on. He needed to see you, now.
âIâm not going to let you go,â Jackson said, grabbing his phone and looking at his lockscreen, âIâm going to fight for you Y/N.â

Oomph.
A muted clatter of miscellaneous items falling onto the carpet floors, swiftly followed by a hushed yelp of surprise woke you out of your light slumber. Somewhere in the back of your head, you registered the undoubtable glow of the bedside lamp and the unfortunate absence of Jacksonâs warm, cosy body.
Your curiosity got the better of you when your ears picked up the familiar scratches of pencil against paper, a sound you had not heard in ages. A lifetime ago, before the string of concerts and the flurry of cameras, you used to spend hours and hours like this, in each otherâs presence. No phones, no schedules, no disturbances. Just two friends, two sketchbooks, two pencils and one common goal â to refine your sketching abilities by using each other as models.
You couldnât help it. Deep down inside you wanted, no, you needed to see it for yourself. You needed to witness traces of the Jackson you grew up with again. You needed confirmation that underneath the glitz and the glamour that came with being an international star, the boy who once dreamed of a simple life in the countryside, with horses and sheep and maybe a strawberry farm, was still there, still existing alongside this newer version of him.
You loved this new Jackson. He sent flowers whenever he thought of you. He planned birthday presents and anniversary gifts months in advanced, in case he had to cancel at the last minute. Yet sometimes, he was just⊠absent. Absent and drained. Like there was a tiny puncture in the delicate skin near his heart through which his soul seeped out of his body. Jackson did a decent job at pretending he was perfectly fine on stage, an impenetrable façade if you will. But when he wrapped up at the end of the day and let down his inhibitions, you could hear the fatigued undertones and the strained smiles in his voice. At moments like those, you wished for nothing more than to reach over the phone and place your palm over his heart to heal his wound.
Unbeknownst to you, the yawn that tore out of your lips sent Jackson into a slight panic. You carried on, obliviously stretching your limbs and rubbing traces of sleep from your eyes.
âNo, no. Did I wake you?â Jackson, ever the loving yet dramatic boyfriend, questioned worriedly. âGo back to sleep, Y/N. Itâs late-late.â
âSays you, dummy.â Cradling the side of your head with your hands, you faced him, all curled up on the velvet armchair with his sketchbook. He looked like a child with his hood pulled over his head and his flowery pyjama bottoms. âYouâre the one who needs to sleep, especially after last night.â
âYeah, I knowâŠâ He gingerly unravelled his stiff body from the seat and placed the open sketchbook on the bedside drawer. You were graced with the view of his rough sketches â a page of new Team Wang merchandise in the works, and another completely covered with sketches of your sleeping face. He never lost his distinct art style, even after all these years, for which you were grateful. âItâs the adrenaline again. Takes me at least three to four hours for the post-performance energy to wear off. And probably another one or two to recover from your surprise.â
âAre you blaming me now?â You joked as you finally felt the bed dip from Jacksonâs weight. He shuffled close to you and got comfortable, his feet touching yours in greeting while his arm found its usual spot around your middle. âI sat at my laptop for nearly an hour refreshing the damn webpage just to get your fanmeeting tickets. Do you have any idea how much mental stress I went through for all that?â
You felt him shrug against your back, his warm lips brushing against your exposed shoulder in a wordless apology. âCouldâve just asked me for the tickets.â
âThen it wouldnât have been a surprise. Itâs much more romantic to secretly hop on a plane to Shanghai and turn up at your boyfriendâs fanmeeting unannounced, donât you think?â
âAny moment with you is romantic to me, Y/N.â Jackson drawled, sleep quickly washing over him as it always did whenever he held you in his arms.
You smiled, relieved that he could finally get a good nightâs sleep. âSweet dreams, dummy.â
