Liam Mairi x Female Reader
Inhibitions
Summary: A party in the Rider's Quadrant is rare, and you're determined to leave no stone unturned when it comes to enjoying yourself. Especially when your wonderful boyfriend can't seem to keep his eyes, or mouth and hands, off of you. But apparently, he's not the only blue eyed, blonde determined to make you his tonight.....
Warnings: Descriptions of inebriated sexual assault, not all the way and not by Liam of course, but could still be triggering.
A/N: Much like the nature of this scenario, tragedy struck when I was writing this. I'd written some paragraphs, the assault, in fact, that I was really really proud of. I'd been on a roll, and even though I clearly clicked on save changes, Tumblr decided not to save my changes. I was absolutely and utterly devastated and demotivated after that. What I've written now is still not as good as what I'd written earlier, but I still tried my best. Hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
I sit on my chair, looking into the tiny vanity mirror in my room as I try to perfect the wing on my left eye. One would think being a rider would mean I'd have control over my limbs, hence steady hands and no trouble with my eyeliner. Alas, I curse internally as I try to keep my hand from shaking. Just as I put down the eyeliner, sighing with relief that my eyes look good, a subtle knock on the door startles me.
I call out-- more out of habit than due to a lack of knowledge of who it could be, considering a foolish smile is already forming on my lips--"Who is it?"
"Ghost," a distincitively male, and distinctively attractive voice that I love with every fibre of my being, calls out.
"Oh come in," I laugh, as Liam opens the door to my room, stepping in with his boyish grin that never fails to make a rush of desire go through me.
"I don't know why you bother knocking at this point. Even if I was naked or something, it's not like it's anything you haven't seen before," I muse, getting off my chair and turning around to face him. I'm pretty sure a giddy smile stretches across my face as I take in how devastatingly handsome he looks in his crisp white shirt, carelessly unbuttoned at the collar, his muscles bulging through through it, his spiky blonde hair carelessly tousled..... Gods, this man was going to send my nervous system into over drive one day.
Liam doesn't respond to my words. In fact, he seems to have barely heard me. No. His eyes are busy raking down my body, the blue in them darkening to black as he pulls his bottom lip between his teeth.
"Y/N, if you didn't want to go to the party, you could have just told me."
I raise an eyebrow in confusion. "Not want to go-"
I'm cut off, as Liam takes two long strides towards me, and the next second, his body is pinning me against the wal.
A soft gasp escapes my lips, as Liam's face comes to within inches of mine. His eyes stare intently into mine, and his minty breath caresses my face as he whispers huskily.
"If you look like this, baby, there's no way in hell we're making it to the party."
I giggle, as Liam places a soft kiss beside my eye, and then on my ear, followed by a tiny nibble that makes me giggle again.
"So I take it you like this dress?" One of the few pretty clothes I got across the Parapet with me, an off shoulder, dark blue, knee length dress that hugs me in all the right places, encrusted with white jewels at the waist.
"More than the dress, I think I like the person in it," he whispers, his lips trailing lower from my earlobe, leaving open mouthed kisses to the base of my ear, my neck, down to my collarbone where he begins to suck.
I close my eyes, my head falling back against the wall with a contented sigh. "Liam..."
"Hmm?" He murmurs, pushing a lock of my open hair out of the way, as he continues to suck the spot till he is satisfied with the blossoming red and blue tint that appears.
"To make it to the party, we have to leave my room, you know."
Liam doesn't reply immediately. His lips keep trailing kisses along my exposed collarbone, and one of his hands snakes around my waist, squeezing my ass.
A soft whimper escapes my lips.
"Screw the party, my love. What will it have that we can't replicate here? Drinks? The taste of you is intoxicating enough. Dancing? I'll have us dancing to our own rhythm on the bed in no time."
Oh gods. This boy. His words send a wave of desire straight to my core, and it physically hurts to only let out a whimper and not just rip apart his fitted white shirt with my nails.
"Gods, you’re smooth."
"You bring it out in me."
I allow him a few more minutes of kissing and sucking my collarbone. The feel of him makes me drown in ecstasy, and it takes a lot of power to push back from the wall, and pull his face up from my chest.
"As much as I like this," I say, giving him a quick kiss on his nose, "We have to go. Not like we have parties in this place all the time."
Liam lets out a long dramatic sigh, dropping his head so his forehead rests against mine.
"Fine, if you insist," he mutters, and I laugh. I turn back towards my vanity, and Liam stands behind me, his arms around my waist.
Our gazes fall on our reflection in the mirror.
My eyes widen, my lips parting in shock, and Liam's smirk grows, a lazy, smug look in his eyes.
"Sorry not sorry," he drawls, chuckling throatily.
I bite my lip, as we both look at my collarbone and neck, decorated with a rough line of red purple splotches, from one ear to the other.
"Gods, Liam...."
"Now you look even more beautiful."
"You know what? I was wondering if I should wear a necklace. You just solved that problem for me."
He laughs, nuzzling his face into my neck, pressing a kiss there. "Glad I could help."
I push him away. "Enough now, Mairi. Same some for later," I wink, as I grab his hand and pull him out of my room before he can convince me otherwise.
It's not long before Liam and I are having drinks with Ridoc. Rhiannon making out in a corner with Tara, Sawyer's chatting with Dain, and Violet is probably off bickering with (fucking) Xaden somewhere.
"You know, Mairi," Ridoc drawls, taking a sip of his beer, "if you didn't nibble Y/N's ear after every ten seconds, she wouldn't spontaneously combust."
I chuckle, blushing slightly, and Liam's arm tightens around my waist, and he pulls me impossibly closer to his side.
"She may not, but I might," Liam remarks, kissing the top of my head.
Ridoc rolls his eyes and shakes his head, causing a stray lock of brown hair to fall into his eyes, which he lazily flips away.
"This is why I don't do relationships. Imagine being that obsessed with one person."
"And what's wrong with only being with the one person you want to be with?" I quip.
"Exactly," Liam adds. "That's the whole point of a relationship, isn't it? Loving someone so much you don't even want to be with anyone else." He looks down at me, giving me a wink. "Other people cease to exist."
Liam's blue eyes twinkle as we smile at each other.
"Well you're right about other people ceasing to exist for the two of you," Ridoc murmurs casually, "Considering Jack Barlowe has been ogling Y/N's ass for the past ten minutes and neither of you have noticed a thing."
Liam and I whip around faster than Stratia whips her swordtail when she's particularly annoyed.
And there he is. Jack Barlowe, in all his 6 foot glory, the black shirt he wears accentuating every muscle on his arms and chest as he casually holds a glass of whiskey in his hand. He leans against the bar counter, flanked by Caroline Ashton and some of his other friends from First Wing, who chatter and laugh around him.
But his gaze is on me.
Like it so often is. Jack has been after me since our first day here, right after Parapet, when he tried to get me to sleep with him. Despite repeatedly turned him down even before I started dating Liam, he never seemed to back down. And of course, since Liam became my boyfriend, he's threatened the creep to stay the fuck away from me more times than I count, though Jack is as receptive to that idea as a full sponge to water.
When he realizes Liam and I have noticed his ogling, the lazy smirk on his face widens, his striking blue eyes glinting devilishly. Without a care in the world, he raises his glass of whiskey to us, mockingly, no trace of shame in his expression. If anything, he seems more smug that we seem to have noticed how openly he was undressing me with his eyes.
Liam's hand on my arm tightens alarmingly, so much so that I wince.
"This fucker-"
"Sweetheart, relax" I quickly say, turning back around to face Liam.
Liam's eyes, trained on Jack Barlowe are burning like blue fire, the set of his jaw tight enough to make the muscles in his neck flex.
"I'm going to kill him-" Liam begins, pushing me aside to take a step towards Barlowe, but I grab onto his arm.
"No! Liam, ignore him. Let him do whatever the fuck he wants, it doesn't matter."
"DOESN'T MATTER? Are you fucking kidding me Y/N? If this fucking toerag has the audacity to stare at your goddamned ass, then I have every right to beat the shit out of him till he doesn't so much as dare to lift his eyes from the ground when you are around!"
I step in front of Liam, cupping his jaw and forcibly tugging his face down to mine.
"Don't let him ruin our night, Liam. Don't make a scene."
"Y/N, if you-"
"He's staring, cause that is all he can do. He's bloody powerless to do anything else cause YOU'RE my boyfriend. You're the only who has my attention, my love, and frankly" -I wink- "the only who gets to touch my ass. So relax, and leave Jack to his desperation. Cause that is all he is capable of."
The inferno in Liam's eyes seems to lessen slightly at my words, and he glares at me for a solid few seconds, before he closes his eyes and sighs.
"If he tries something, Y/N..."
"Then we'll beat the shit out of him together." I punctuate my words with a quick, hard kiss to his lips, and a wink, before tugging him back around towards Ridoc, who had been sipping his drink the entire while, watching the whole exchange with a barely controlled smirk on his face.
"So I won't get to see Barlowe’s ass handed to him?"
"Shut up, Gamlyn." I say, kicking his shin with my heel.
"Come on Liam, let's go dance," I pull Liam with me into the swirl of dancing riders, and start to move against him.
The next hour is a blur of flashing lights, pounding music, drink after drink after drink, and Liam. Liam’s hands on my waist, my arms around his neck, his lips in my hair, whispered flirtations into each other's ears, as we sensually move to the music.
And just pure making out.
Our lips are glued together, tongues locked in their own dance, even as my hips sway against Liam. His hands rest comfortably on my back, occasionally dipping lower, or rubbing restless circles on me.
We lose all sense of propriety as we down drink after drink, getting wilder and wilder by the second.
But it's evidently clear who is more affected by the alcohol. I don't drink often, and as it so happens, I'm a total lightweight.
By my 3rd drink, I am absolutely smashed.
And how many did I have? 7, 8.... Eh, who cares?
The world around seems to take on a hazier, yet brighter tint, if that makes sense. The pulsing, multicoloured lights sharper, yet everything seems blurry around the edges, every sound oddly resonant, every thought in my head seems to pass through muddy water, every movement confusing and oddly disorienting.
All I do make sense of, is my ridiculously beautiful boyfriend's presence, and the giddy, careless feeling that seems to pulse through my veins.
Liam's arms around my body are no longer there just for romantic purposes, I suspect. He's probably the only think holding me up at this point.
His handsome face swims in and out of my sight. His seductive smirk has morphed into a soft, tamer smile, as he carefully detangles a lock of hair plastered to my neck with sweat.
"Are you okay there, lovie?" He whispers quietly in my ear, his words spoken directly into my ear cutting through the thump of the music.
"Uhuh? Yeah" - hiccup- " I am. Why - hiccup- do you ask?"
"No reason sweetheart," Liam grins, kissing my forehead. "But let me get you a little water, yeah? Let's sit down for a moment."
I barely register what he says, let alone realize or even protest when he starts to lead me away from the tangle of bodies on the dance floor.
The next thing I know, I'm sitting on a sofa, clinging to the armrest, and Liam's whispering in my ear that he'll be back in two seconds.
I nod vaguely, bringing my hand to my eyes to stop the world from spinning as much.
"Alone at last, are you?"
I slowly look up, squinting to make out a blurry face. The same blonde hair and blue eyes as my boyfriend, but.... wrong, because that is where the similarities end. Unfamiliar features twisted in an unfamiliar look. A predatory glint replacing the sweet look I'm used to in Liam's gaze.
Jack Barlowe.
"J-Jack...."
"Come on sweetheart, let me take care of you," he drawls lowly over the blaring of the music.
And I'm vaguely aware of being hauled to my feet.
The movement makes me moan as the room spins and spins and spins.
"N-no.. what are- hiccup- you doing?"
"Shhh, baby. Let me help you. Relax."
The fog and confusion that surround me do nothing to help as Jack's arm circles me, dragging me away from the party.
Very vague warning bells register in my brain, but the flashing lights, though rapidly dimming as we move away from the dance floor, make it difficult for me to realize what is happening.
I moan faintly, wriggling my arms to get Jack to let go of me, but his grip is firm.
And the next thing I know, we're in a dark corner gods know where. I'm pressed against a cool wall, and Jack's face is inches from mine, obscuring my view of anything else.
"Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous," Jack breathes, his whiskey tinted breath warm on my face.
"N-no.... Liam...." I call out softly.
Jack's brow furrows, his lip curling. That annoyed him.
"Your golden boy isn't here. And I know he is not the one you want." His large hand grips my wrist, pressing it into the wall, and before I can even register what he is about to do, his lips crash to mine.
I can only let out a panicked, distressed moan, muffled against Jack's lips as they move over mine, biting, bruising, crushing. One of his hands grabs my waist , while the other lets go of my wrist and wraps around my neck, holding me captive against the wall as he groans in pleasure.
Hazy panic engulfs every part of my body, curling around the base of my stomach as disorienting nausea. I writhe agaist him, but my limbs refuse to cooperate through the mental block in my head, and the disorenting panic that overwhelms me.
I'm useless against Jack.
Unable to do anything but endure, as his hands roam my body, exploring, squeezing, touching.
The world narrows down to him. His lips mercilessly moving against mine, his hands moving over me, the heavy weight of his body crushing me against the wall, rendering me immobile. Trapped. Helpless.
I can't breathe.
And then his hands are at my back, tugging the zipper of the dress down.
Desperation. Desperation slams into my body with the weight of a thousand boulders, and the overwhelming sense of nausea grows devastatingly stronger. I try to force my limbs to cooperate, to clench my body still captive in his unforgiving hold and push.
But barely anything happens. I feel him press harder into me, squeezing my chest, till I can't think past the feel of his huge body against mine, the lack of air in my body, the feeling of drowning.
I can't breathe. I can’t breathe. I can't breathe.
"Stop fighting it, baby. You want this too." Jack growls into my mouth.
"Mmmph- No.... p-please!" I choke out, against his lips.
Jack finally manages to get my zipper free and tugs it all the way down. The dress falls free off my body, pooling around my ankles in a heap, exposing me to the night. Cold air slams into my bare torso, seaping through my skin and swirling the nausea raging its way through me. Goosebumps erupt over my skin.
Jack detaches his lips from mine as he moves back to run his eyes down my body, a wild hunger darkening his features.
I try to summon the breath to scream, to do something, anything, but my throat has squeezes in on itself, and all that comes out is a wheeze.
"Jack," I gasp out. "Please," my voice is barely a whisper. "Let me go." My voice cracks on the last word.
"Mine, all fucking mine" is all he whispers, before he slams me back against the wall, knocking the wind from my lungs.
His lips crush mine once more.
I feel his hands fiddle with the clasp of my bra.
No. Oh gods, please, no.
I try to summon the final vestiges of my strength to push him off. But an oppressive blur is descending over me. My limbs don't move, my thoughts lost amongst whorls of cotton. All I know is pressure. Pressure, on every inch of my body, pressure on the walls of my throat, down to my stomach. Pressure behind my eyes, pushing out hot tears which accumulate in my eyes, before spilling down my cheeks. I make a last, desperate sound, choked sobs fighting to escape of their own accord. But Jack's lips swallow my cries, until there is nothing.
And then I vaguely hear a crash, a loud thud somewhere...
And then Jack's weight from my body is gone. Cool air, swirling unforgiving slams into my again. But the sudden lack of overwhelming pressure seems to finally allow the churning nausea to tilt my stomach, my head, my body. I double over coughing, the swimming in my head consuming every thought. But not before I hear an angry roar, and the familiar sound of flesh hitting flesh. I collapse to my knees, and then I'm vomiting on the floor next to me, chugging up the contents of my stomach.
The sounds behind me get louder, and I vaguely hear snatched words.
"YOU'RE DEAD. YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY FUCKING DEAD, YOU USELESS EXCUSE OF A HUMAN." An unmistakeable sharp, snapping crack sounds through the roar in my head. "HOW DARE YOU TOUCH HER, LAY YOUR FUCKING HANDS ON HER, YOU- "
The retching stops, I think, but my stomach still pulses within me. I keep coughing, my head swimming, everything swirling, fading, darkening. I fall to my side. Maybe I let out a whimper. I don't know. My eyes close. The thuds around me keep sounding, louder and louder.
Till they stop.
And then there are footsteps, rapid, heavy, sounding louder and louder.....
Hands on me, panicked exclamations of my name, love, darling....
My eyes are barely open into slits, and through them, I see a familiar flash of blue. Blue eyes, blown wide with panic, and a wild, wild rage.
His name whispered in my mind.
Liam.
And then black.
