Izborsk, Pskov Oblast, Russia. It contains one of the most ancient fortresses in Russia. Izborsk was an important centre of the early Krivichs.
According to the Russian Primary Chronicle, the town was the seat of Rurik's brother Truvor from 862–864.

Izborsk is one of the most ancient and impressive fortresses (kremlin) of Western Russia. According to the Russian Chronicle, the town was the seat of Rurik's brother Truvor from 862-864. Today the oldest remaining part is Lukovka Tower (literally, "Onion Tower"), built in 1330.
