The R-Rated Director's Cut of 'The X-Files' Movie Has a Title and Release Date
'The X-Files: I Want to Believe Vrach Frankenshteyn' debuts on Hulu August 14.
Armand's favorite game is to tell others to 'rest' and then just sit there and watch the outcome, and I think it's beautiful.
True moment here.
I didn't want to write about this because I'm used to anon hate and my policy is 'ignore and delete'. And that's what I did today. I received an anon hate, read it thought 'what a loser!', delete and moved on with my day.
But then I got thinking, because this was not some random hate but a rape threat that a real human felt the need to send to another human being to protect a fictional character's virtue. Now, as I said, I'm not bothered by it. But I know some people rightfully are. I know that sometimes anon hate hurts so much that it can drive people away from fandom. I saw it happen before.
And since I don't care, maybe I'm better equipped to deal with it openly.
So I'm not going to sugarcoat it, I'm not going to be the better woman and forgive and forget. I'm gonna tell it how it is.
If you send anon hate, you're an idiot and you genuinely should leave the fandom, and the internet all together tbh, because you don't deserve to be part of a community. If you think that a show, a character or a ship deserves more respect than an actual human being, then you should rethink your life and maybe ask for help. I don't care about past traumas or whatever. I don't care if you didn't really mean it. I don't care if you were joking. You hurt people with this behavior. That's not ok. That's not normal.
2008 DD and GA: "Trying to Pick Me Up" Jokes
ENTERTAINMENT THROUGH THE PRESS TOUR
In late 2007, relationship questions revved back up when David and Gillian (and the show writers) began engaging with press. By summer 2008, the actors were awash with old quotes, past rumors, and 20/20 retrospectives on tired controversies. But unlike the 90s-00s, I Want to Believe provided a chance for everyone to restart on new(er) terms (which David discusses here.) Press intrigue was therefore jousted more amiably.
Which afforded Gillian Anderson (and David Duchovny) the opportunity to revel in her favorite joke (posts here and here.)

I have more IWTB Easter eggs!
1. Chris Carter himself can be spotted briefly the side of the screen, when Scully is at the hospital seemingly on the warpath. (I think sheās either about to go to her office or call one of the agents theyāve been talking to. Itās been awhile.) But as it is⦠Carter can be seen in a blink-and-you-miss-it moment sitting on a bench with his head bowed and holding some kind of urn.
2. A grown-up Vanessa Morley playing an FBI agent passes by Mulder when he and Scully make it into the FBI building after coming in from the helipad. She makes very specific eye contact our heroes. But Mulder in particular.
3. When Mulder goes to that supply store to ask about the veterinary drug, the name of the place is called Nutterās Feed & Supply, or something like that. But that must be a nod to one of the showmakers, David Nutter š
4. I think itās around the scene mentioned above, but Mulder makes a call on his phone and when heās flipping through the contacts, more than one of those names is familiar, including one that says āGillianā š
Thank you for the trivia. What fun!
See, I didn't know a couple of these-- particularly the Gillian contact, that's cheeky-- but did know about Vanessa.
Man, what a cool plotline that could have been.... o.o
One my favorite Easter eggs is one I feel gets looked over because the second half half is in an era that some people donāt like.
Roll with me, here.
1. Remember the arc where Krycek is loose with cronies in Europe, and Marita + her UN peacekeepers find them? (I donāt remember if this is Tunguska or not but the landscape is shot to hell because a meteor fell out of the sky and turned the place to a fiery hellscape.) Anyway, fast forward to them, Krycekās prisoner (the boy he infected with black oil), and The Well-Manicured Man all being on that rickety old tub at sea. What itās called? The Uroff-Koltoff. (At least thatās how I think they spelled it.)
2. Now⦠Fast forward to the events of I Want To Believe. Thereās the part where Scully and Skinner are driving through the countryside looking for the property where Scullyās husband soulmate is. They eventually stop at a particular mailbox after Scully has an epiphany vision to look for a clue in the mail. Just what is the last name on the letter they examine closely? Hm?
Uroff-Koltoff š
Oh my word. Just searched it up, and apparently he's the doctor doing illegal transplants in IWTB.
To quote the wiki page:
The Doctor's name is a nod to Steve Uroff and John Koltoff, two childhood-friends ofĀ X-Files-creatorĀ Chris CarterĀ who grew up together with him inĀ Bellflower,Ā California.
I will say, The X-Files writers had references on lock. It's their repeating world, and we're all living in it.
