what pisses me off the most about people being angry at shows like She-ra is that those are exactly the kind of shows I wish I could've seen as a kid myself.
What pisses me off is that I know perfectly well how it is to feel out of place for one’s gender expression and/or sexual orientation and how much of a difference stuff like She-ra or, I dunno, SU would have made for me personally.
I only wish I saw girls wearing tuxedos, short-haired and buff women wearing long evening dresses, and athletic gals with long, blonde hair, all of them equally strong and equally valid amongst the variety of people they interact with.
I only wish I knew that not being femminine or not being straight could be ok, and not something that would necessarily lead to isolation and rejection. Heck, I wish producers had the balls to even allow something like that on TV in the first place!
So I’d like to invite anyone who thinks that She-ra and anything like it is a bad influence on kids to shut the fuck up for two seconds and reflect on what it means for children like me to see characters like them.
Plus, straight, gender-conforming kids won’t “turn gay” if they see a butch on TV - that shit never worked on me, or any other queer fellow for that matter.

Fanfic Titles
Somehow I managed to write like a fanfic trilogy (except the third isn’t quite done) just out of pure self indulgence.
Titles tend to elude me. The first fanfic’s title is pretty good but isn’t...quite what I want for that story.

Except I was re-reading the third one and accidentally did a shoutout to the first fanfic title. And that kinda shit pleases me greatly.
