For the longest time I thought you meant Patrick O'Brien instead of Michael O'Brien and I was like "huh, can't believe he also wrote about space"
LOL Let this be a lesson to me to always specify amongst O’Briens

Top 3 lyrics on life of a showgirl that you feel represent the album best?
all that time I sat alone in my tower / you were just honing your powers / now I can see it allllll
&
Life is a song, it ends when it ends / I was wrong
&
I made wishes on all of the stars / please God / bring me a best friend who I think is hot / I thought I had it right once, twice / but I did not / you caught me off my guard / I hope I get what I want / 'cause I know what I want
@itspileofgoodthings 's year-end favorites thing!
Favorite Taylor look: This one!

Favorite Reread: A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens
Favorite New Read: Lunar New Year Love Story, Gene Luen Yang and LeUyen Pham
Favorite Random Habit: Checking the time right before I walk into work so I remember it later for my timesheet
Favorite Album: Nation of Two, Vance Joy
Favorite Trip: Day trip to the beach : )
Favorite TV Show: Schmigadoon!
Favorite Teaching Memory: Believe it or not, I even have something for this! I'm not a professional teacher, just a once-a-month-at-church thing, but my answer is whenever the other teacher used my stumbling recitation of the curriculum as a springboard to a genuine, warm conversation.
Kramer likes Elaine is a take i love so much, can you tell me more pleeeeease
Now if I’m being honest I think Kramer is in love with the entire friend group much as a dog is in love with his family of ownership: unashamedly, unconditionally, and without reasonable cause. So there’s no real reason to single out Elaine. However.
You’re sweet nothing!! The tiny fairy-like details, the warmth, the coziness, the finding the beauty in a small little world 💙
I love this and I love you 💛💛💛 that is definitely the song i'm most drawn to from the album so I love that you picked it for me as well !

they say she was seen on occasion! pacing the rocks staring out at the midnight sea! and in a feud with her neighbor she stole his dog and dyed it key lime green!!
50 years is a long time! Holiday house sat quietly on that beach! Free of women with MADNESS their men and BAD HABITS
And then it was bought by me
*rolls into tumblr for very important business*
Ahem! @itspileofgoodthings
Happy birthday Maria!
You are so many things, a warm sun through all seasons, a refreshing gust of wind spritzed with rain, a good sensible book with the most delightful flights of fancy and romance hidden just behind one very thin page.
I haven't really talked to you much about folklore, and I need to fix that! But I was listening to "this is me trying" and somehow it made me think of you...the world isn't perfect, you aren't perfect (who is?), and sometimes its hard to know what to say, especially in times like this, but you always TRY. You are always searching, always trying to be a better person even when you don't want to or when you are weary, and I really love that about you.
I hope that the rest of this year, through all the inevitable griefs and unexpected joys, you will receive and never lose a gift of peace, so that whether moments make you happy or sad, you will be able to sail through them with an underlying steadiness and hope that all shall be, in the end, very well
I love you! 💜
Once I saw @itspileofgoodthings listing the four pieces of media that make up her heart, I could not rest until I’d figured out what my four quadrants were.
My Four Quadrants (and what I appreciate most in them):
G.K. Chesterton: Enthusiastic, joyful gratitude. The crazy balance between wild romanticism and practical realism. Love of wordplay. A mind that loves to analyze and a heart that’s content with mystery.
Jane Austen: Wit and laughter and appreciation of little events and everyday people, flaws and all. (This contains both my love of period drama and sitcoms).
The Eleventh Doctor’s era of Doctor Who: Wonder and adventure. Sorrow and profound joy. Love that can overcome all the terrors of the universe. (This era, for me, most clearly represents that sacramental worldview where there’s no separation between everyday life and epic realities of the universe).
The Fairy Tale Novels: Tying the big ideals of Catholicism to the nitty gritty of daily life. (Also contains my love for creative retellings of fairy tales that are good books in their own right. And for religious fiction that knows a story is not a sermon).
